How wonderful! I noticed that the pick-up is German, because I had a radio and a Dual record player too, all two Germans, but I loved this tube cabinet.

Wow so clear. FISHER what a great electronic vintage history. As for The Flight Of The Bumblebee I think of the classic piece, also The Green Hornet television show, & a video game fan of INTELIVISION BUZZ BOMBERS. 😄. Good video enjoyed watching.

Thanks for the video. I am the original owner of a Fisher Regent Console '67 vintage. If there is anything you need to know about those units, feel free to ask. Was an audio engineer back then and loved the Fisher and Scott units. They were designed to last! Nothing cheap about them at all. Even the cabinetry is exquisite. Mine is the country French unit and it is absolutely exquisite in every detail.

Hi Joe, I have a 1965 Fisher custom Electra console. It has tubes and transisters in it. Anyway, I am getting a beeping noise coming out of the speakers. I don't know it is coming from inside the console or if it is outside interference. What do you think?

Most consoles are boomy with a peaky frequency response. They sounds bassy, but the notes are not clear. I'm not sure if they were always like that when new. Is it a consequence of open baffles. Paper on the woofers gets stiff and the resonant frequency rises. This console does sound clear and bass seems smooth and tight. At least as best I can hear on my headphones on my android. Merry Christmas!

Fisher Ambassador VII Console (1965) (Model A-690) fisherconsoles.com/ambassador%20VII.html Console stereos and "Hi-Fi's" were definitely large extravagant pieces of furniture. They were called "Brown goods" in an appliance store, as opposed to "White goods," which were washers, dryers, refrigerators, et cetera. Appliance stores sold them, because they had large warehouses and furniture movers that could easily move and deliver them. Average hourly income in 1965 was $1.95, yearly income = $4,056. Console stereos like this were typically $1100., they were typically financed and not paid in full at the time of purchase. Unfortunately as their owners moved or passed away, the consoles were disposed of. People just did not want to move them. These certainly are a niche item now, some just want the woodwork and gut the cabinets, while others just want the tube amps and multiplexers and dispose of the woodwork. I am fortunate have 2 1956 Motorola Sk32w consoles. Beautiful works of art, beautiful sound when properly restored. For those watching this video, KZbin cannot replicate what these actually sound like "in person" as recording device, camera mic, digital file compression and playback devices completely change the listeners experience. Thanks Turkeydoodlers for showing KZbin the 1965 Fisher Ambassador!

What speakers are in the console at what ohms etc? Sounds fantastic! I have my moms Fisher 500C receiver driving 4 Electrovoice 12 inch Triaxails in a custom console I had built to match my medieval gothic decor. I am also running a Teac cd and cassette player with it as well as a "new" Music Hall MMF 2.1 turntable. My mom had used a Dual 1019 table with it that I still have but needs a fair amount of work on it. I love these old consoles! Did you buy this brand new back in the day?

A thousand was a lot of money back then. 1965 I was 10 years old and remember I used to pay 17 cents for a 16 once Pepsi and 10 cents for a candy bar. Look at that documentary on KZbin called Boomer supermarket. It's a 1962 I believe.

That Fisher above makes me speechless. I'm back in Jr.High, seeing that for first time. incredible. Now good news, I found one. It is 2500 miles away so I am doing this long distance In order to get a shipping quote I need the approximate weight. Do any of you fine,Fisher fans out there even want to hazard a guess? Nothing in the service manuals, and I know by The Fisher I already have and the other consoles I have, it is going to be heavy. Same Model, (Ambassador) same cabinet,except it has the pull-out reel to reel tape deck,oh,great! More weight- Thank you and HELP!

Fishers of that vintage were among the finest consoles built. They could rival the best component systems of the time. I happen to have a Stereo Action album by Marty Gold on a RCA Victor reel to reel tape with Dream walking on it. I play it on my channel on the Teac Stereo Tale deck .My channel wb5oxq.

I would like to get anyone's ideas on using a Bluetooth receiver with my Fisher 500C receiver and which ones would be good and not overly expensive that will be applicable! Also, what input would I use? I am currently utilizing the Aux/Tape input for the CD player and have a Cassette in the Tape monitor input!
@xaenon
@xaenon 7 жыл бұрын
You can buy external signal switching boxes - several sources to a single set of connections to hook to your receiver. I use one with my Magnavox to connect Bluetooth, cassette, and CD to the AUX-IN jacks. I'm using a unit designed for A/V (in which there are actually three sets of signals switched: left audio, right audio, and video), but I just don't use the video connections. Mine was designed for up to four sources so I have a spare set, which will come in handy once I get my reel-to-reel deck. My input selector is similar to this: www.showmecables.com/4-way-audio-video-input-selector-switch As for Bluetooth receivers, a quick search of eBay using 'Bluetooth Audio Receiver' as a search term will get you all sorts of inexpensive results, such as: www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-Bluetooth-3-0-Audio-Music-Receiver-Adapter-For-3-5mm-Stereo-Speaker-/331594877163?hash=item4d349848eb:g:fBsAAOSw3v5Yq4DH You'll probably need a 3.5mm stereo-to-dual-RCA-plug adapter cable; they're inexpensive on ebay too. One thing I've noticed is that, regardless of brand or model, the signal output from a Bluetooth receiver is generally 'quieter' than the tuner or phonograph functions on the stereo, so you'll probably have to crank up the volume a bit, or get some sort of preamplifier or linedriver device if that bothers you.

At approximately :3:31 to 3:32. You turned the page past a model that looks eerily like the JC Penney model which my folks bought in 63/64. I've long suspected that it was made by a major manufacturer, but then had the JC Penney name put on it for marketing. Anyway you can make a scan of that page and email it to me? I'd be ever so greatful!
