If you’ve never actually worked with metal before you have no idea how much of an undertaking a project like this _really_ is and the incredible amount of work that’s actually involved(and compared to ceramics/resin/wood carving metal takes AGES). This reminds me of retired dentist turned full time modeler, Young C. Park he built aluminum airplane models with dentist tools and machines making the majority of the plane cut a ways as to show the parts underneath the skin of his model planes and although they weren’t intricately designs as yours it was sort of the same principle, if not cut from the same cloth. The key is to not alter the structural integrity of the model. If you take a closer look, every panel he altered has the same shape, but the weaker part of the panel (the inside) is able to be manipulated. It only works because of the scale. The weight of a larger model might collapse or weaken due to lack of strength.
