1965 Honda 50 Cub

This is a walk-around of a motorcycle from my personal collection and the startup procedure.

This was known as the C100 pushrod 49cc version in the early 1960’s in U.K. .My father used one to go a couple of miles to work his was two tone blue .When serviced correctly they should start up first time & only need some choke on very cold days .I had a later 1971 version in green with white leg shields but with overhead chain driven cam & higher head light & larger round turn lights .Both very reliable & virtually bullet proof .👍

*My first powered vehicle of any kind was a '69 Honda 90 'Super Cub' for my 14th. B-day my g-parents paid-for...$300 'out-the-door' w/tax & license from 'Scootersville Honda' in Las Vegas and I beat hell out of that poor machine for 3-years day and night* *I don't remember if the oil was ever changed or even checked!* *I sold it for $220 when I was 17 and and got a 'hand-me-down' station-wagon and I 'beat hell' out of that too until an engine fire burnt everything under the hood from no filter in the air-cleaner and the hot engine percolated fuel and ignited from something, probably the exhaust-headers* *A real 'Lil Bastard' wasn't I?* ______________ *My 08 Honda 'Metropolitan' looks and performs 'showroom fresh' and although I'm 'wide-open-throttle' 95% I'm riding it I lavish it w/maintenance and care and several minor upgrades although the liquid-cooled 'Mighty Fifty' and exhaust are 'factory' it manages 42mph on level roads even w/my 230lbs of fat ass on it!* ( *"14 -inch windscreen added 1.2mph from smoother air flow* ) *It 'goes w/the house' when I croak because I'll never let it go after 63-months of riding and still starts instantly and 'runs like a pit-bull growling to itself under a bed'*

My Dad had this bike and on the rear fender it had turn signal indicator lights. Looks like the holes are there on the rear fender for these indicators. It had one spark plug and he always used the built in tool kit to clean the fouled up plug, LOL.

I had one of these in 1961 for my paper route. I do not know how later models were geared, but mine would do 50 mph with one person on a flat road and about 40 mph with two riders.

I had one of those. It got over 200 mpg, but would only go about 35-40 mpg.

Yes, I am considering selling both of my Hondas, the Cub and the CL350. It's time for someone else to enjoy them. The only thing that the Cub would benefit from is new shocks. But, it rides just fine.
