Nice job. Is the bottom hose on passenger side or drivers?

Do you have pics of the bottom support mounts? Part number on the battery kit?

What were you thinking with the blue cap and yellow wires then??? Everything else looks good and in the spirit of what your trying to accomplish. I ran a HEI on my last ford and the cheap one ( that was in it, when I bought the car) failed. I bought a good quality replacement HEI to replace that one, but looking stock was not my intention. On my new project I bought a Mallory Unilite , and that might be a swing and a miss, I forgot how small that cap is compared to the points distributor that belongs in the car. If you see my engine and I have the red cap on it, well it's 50 dollars for a black cap, and there is nothing wrong with it yet. I did go out of my way for black wires, and until the car is total built and detailed I might just give the cap a quick shot of SEM Plastic paint.

Eh, doesn't bother me. The wires went black on my last tune up. I like the blue cap, so that stays.

Did the electric fan work as good as the mechanical fan blade? I have the same problem with my 66 wish the 302. Thx
@SilveradoC107 жыл бұрын
It works better. It pulls more air at idle on high speed than the stock fan and shroud did. It only matters up to about 45-50+ mph, after that, the air flowing through the radiator from the speed of the car should take over for cooling.

Looks like you did a great job. I'm now planning on doing the exact same with my 66. If you happen to have any technical information about model of radiator or fan that would be of great help.

Thank you and I don't know why I just got a notification for this. I did a full write up on this here (I stopped at using the factory shroud, I didn't get into installing the e-fans): forums.vintage-mustang.com/vintage-mustang-forum/1063353-24-1969-radiator-1965-66-mustang.html The radiator is a brass 24" APC for a 1969/70 Mustang, PN FM-ER006. You have to make sure you order the correct one, some have the lower hose on the PS which matches a factory 65/66, but some people have newer 302's which have the WP outlet on the DS, so watch which one you buy. My car has a stock 289 so I went with the one on the PS. The fan is a ford contour fan. Summit had the best price on a new one, it's PN 620-104. I got the PN from several people that have used the same fan on Vintage Mustang Forums. I just spent $300 on a new radiator, I wasn't going to put a junkyard fan on it, so I'm not sure which years they can be pulled from.

@@SilveradoC10 , Thank you for the info. I was curious as well, I have a 67 that I want to do the same thing. It has factory air, but get a little hot at long stop lights and up hills.

What size air cleaner are you running? I'm planning on running a HEI dizzy on my 66 mustang and read that the 14in air cleaner contacts the cap of the HEI dizzy.
@SilveradoC103 жыл бұрын
It does. I am running a 14" stock air cleaner with a thinner filter (1.5" tall?). I bought a 1.5" offset base like this one on ebay. I sanded the crappy chrome off and primed and painted it. It comes with the base and the "z" shaped bar for the wing nut. Don't forget to SLOWLY close your hood to check for clearance with the bar. I used a turd of clay to check the height before installing the Z bar, I did need to trim it, it would have hit my hood. You have been warned!: www.ebay.com/itm/222477980221?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item33ccb8923d:g:eQ8AAOSwcx5ZZroj&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSvtkx670Z0mbyfWqmxLFLYYXS0KUFKHxsAI7E8lr%252Fkqj2IsLp%252B%252Fxw%252BJKbOM4c8FcqMpjUiaIR45w6%252F5DwPQm0HXPHlxnKmrs1T8Q6YbMsWx3%252FCASMCdoeTt2C%252B1OJehNQ2snBFKE%252FyJYUR9vrlEJw6PgoDr4YTQyfwaob%252FUdnnNh2VHOPFNKQmtDNppAhEqSlXf%252BPddL3vAuKii1vQCw6IuNYmnjCNVEnld77ILRgawzLudo3Tr4nDrNqx%252Bv3hFkaOahvsIA3AqnzR0KaSbmd%252BIxmo7CDgul%252FLbs%252BqMrVvuRcMS5YTLOsqMbyQlPnjlM9HT%252BrNSbwEh56VdXrGRCeLeN1DlN4CNeWODQFg2aM3GH8WypiJbz7IWFT8PWm39uZfNKfiY8aFiXmb2Cz7XBfYrXDX0l4%252FxLTZHx37LDlV6dVmENdNBq%252Bl9kP7f2k3LRhw8qVsGYpLbPQ7%252BSEm%252Fc5kAaF0I8snJGVh9NdN%252F%252BETE6Vn4txBQMLJMJUHcRMoTaOSzrIS3JJ1pXrb7qrtUKUe0Rm411M2D7fDzJHYu0jKF5BhZQIQ3QX%252FxGh2QTyCqd4xbqmgcIxm7T4xC%252FOaqg%252BqSKzMSN7rD1lMkxvv1rbqL4kCOogovWKrzbrs0AXWhyzOZZs4LrJz0k6dfsuaZxu4VmCo%252Brjcvr2ShBvkuAW%252BSQ40dzPXJ5MXsbs2UqKJNU0jJQhWTJCU%252Fs86%252FJq91TSu4r2A9EAPZmPtZEI21CtrB4%252FGPD3TPqdhM8l8pJVL5JDRLZgqHQrdGOh%252FlN4%252B8qZZqCAQqM3YZCyOz7%252Frlp12NJRdwdYQaei%252FJWDXQ%252FadHNUZzU0HU7f2S50OPmh6RoQ6w%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2334524
