Yeah market place is a gamble we all been there . Drilling out bolts sucks I like the fact you fix right the first time. Hope you get the transmission back in time

@@jerryferguson6606 I think I might have OCD or something. If I take the bumper off. I HAVE to fix all the bolts and hardware or it will eat at me and eat at me. Till I fix it right! I sure hope I get it back. Maybe I can still get the car to the track for Duct Tape Drags…. 🤞

It’s coming along brother. One piece at a time 🤙🏽 Sorry to hear about the trans. Hope to meet you at Duct Tape Drags. I have to admit You motivate me to get my ass in the garage and get my junk finished. I tell myself if Steve can turn wrenches in his garage in 100 + degree weather so can In this Vegas heat lol 🐫🌵🏜️ 😎🤙🏽

@@Tone-E-Tocca thanks man! We will be there one way or another so come say hi! Yep I get in the garage every week no matter what the temperature is! Only way to get it done.

Out of that whole video, I could only think of one thing to say. Somewhere out there is a pile of bolt heads that were snapped off when that car was rear ended. Other than that, I had a great time watching you just put things on all over that car. I'm not going to talk about the trans. Getting exciting!
@tackettshoh2 ай бұрын
@@DonCrookwashere lol. I didn’t think of that. Or someone tried working on this car and snapped off all those bolts!! Or stripped them out!!

@@tackettshoh anything is possible. Hearing this doors clunk closed makes me cringe. When/if you add weatherstripping, those doors will sound so good *chunk*

I like the way you keep going. There’s always something to do no matter what happens. There’s something else that can be worked on. Keep up the good work Steve you’re gonna make it I look forward to seeing you in that car at duck tape drags

You win some you lose some, but still, if the brake/valve body wind up being ok you're still ahead
@tackettshoh2 ай бұрын
@@johnp1966 ya. I heard from the tranny guy yesterday. The case is good. The valve body is good. The trans brake is good. It was the sprag and front main drum. Shattered. It was a stock sprag and drum. Someone put a trans brake on the thing with stock parts!! Probably dropped the trans brake hard and it shattered. So he’s going to fix it with a new drum and hardened sprag. So it should be good. Parts are already ordered. Hopefully get it back next week. Fingers crossed.

@@ronr344 ya. I figured worst case scenario. I broke even. I needed a core anyway and the valve body and solenoid would be a bonus. I’m more worried about time. I really want to see the car make a pass at Duct Tape Drags…🤷♂️

How about you be your new, new transmission guy and rebuild it yourself. Buy a transmission manual, a rebuild kit and use this as a learning experience so you don't have to pay anymore transmission guys.🤷🤔 Shop 209 did a really good th350 rebuild video with good camera work so you can see what he's doing. After you do 1 or 2 transmission rebuilds you'll wonder why you didn't learn how to work on them sooner. Maybe the next MP core you find.😎👍
@tackettshoh2 ай бұрын
@@itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852 you’re probably right. I’ve always wanted to learn. I’ve just never done it.
@itseithergonnaworkoritaint78522 ай бұрын
@@tackettshoh And if you do it on video, make sure to read the comments before you use it because there'll probably be a transmission guy watching to tell you what you may have forgot or did incorrectly? It wouldn't be me though because I regret to admit I never forced myself to learn how to rebuild a transmission. But after watching a few being gone through I'm sure I could of figured it out eventually. They actually look a lot easier than building an engine. Well a lot lighter parts to install anyway and all around lighter. The world is running out of good transmission guys, maybe you can get a side business going after you get a few under your belt? Plus it gives you more content to post. Start rebuilding the rear ends yourself too so you have content to post. Those are about the only major things you farm out, might as well try to keep everything in Tackettstan with the economy the way it is. Plus it might help some other budget guys save a few bucks?😎👍
