I had a 1965 Delta 88 in high school. It was a 4- Door Automatic 4 barrel carburetor. I think it was a 425 or 472 Engine. It was a light blue color. I remember it had a Gigantic Trunk‼️👍Man oh man, I love the small vent windows that open and close by hand power‼️☮️🇺🇸 It is a very wide car compared to today's cars.
@knowbodiesfull57683 жыл бұрын
Had to have been a 425, because the 472 was a Cadillac engine and that didn't come until '68. (9/29/2021)

I had a WEDGEWOOD BLUE, 1962 OLDS STARFIRE Convertable with a 455 V8. That was one of the most beautiful Automobiles ever made! With the 10 inch wide Silver and Chrome side trim,the tri-color glossy Blue upholstery and the entire dashboard instrument clusters back lighted, it was awesome. And a Light Blue Rag Top!

@sandyshoremann75242 жыл бұрын
You could get a Buick Wildcat in 1965 with a 425 dual quads and a four on the floor. My father ordered one, the family went to retrieve it but my mom said, NO!. We ended up a few months later with an Electra 225 Convertible with the 445 (401 cu in) V8 and Super turbine 400 with switch pitch converter. It was a great car.

The 425 Starfire engine was also an option on the Olds 98 Town Sedan. My Uncle Billy had a 65 Starfire and Dad had the Starfire engine equipped 98 Town Sedan. BTW, the Town Sedan was the lowest cost 98 and the lightest because it didn't have Air Conditioning and all the extra insulation that was used in the A/C equipped Luxury Sedan. As for power, my older brother used to drag race it against SS396 Chevelle's and 383 Roadrunners and win. Take the spare and jack out of the trunk along with the rear seat cushion and it would do 0-60 in under 7 seconds.

Like the tornado in 1966 the StarFire was a “personal luxury performance“ offering from Oldsmobile. A category of automobile that saw it’s beginnings at Oldsmobile with the 1953/54 Fiesta show car that reached regular production. I’m curious Jay, what was the standard transmission on the 1965 Olds StarFire? Was the four speed an extra cost option? Thank you Jay for taking us on a “spin” down memory lane. I hope to become a customer converting my 401(k) into a classic automobile investment/toy some day.

I'd love to go back in time to when that car was brand new & sit behind the wheel to enjoy what a gorgeous hunk of car was all about, to see a real powerful engine under the hood, gleaming chrome, a car worthy of a Blue Coral wax treatment that you'd need to wear dark sunglasses to keep you from going blind, that is just a stunning automobile, I'd even like to go back to the Chicago auto show, & see that under the lights at McCormick Place, with a convertible parked next to it, along with a pair of fully loaded up 98s in 2 door hardtop & convertibles right nearby, you'd hard pressed to decide which of those 4 cars you'd want, oh, not to mention a pair of 442s next to those 4, EUREKA, I'll write a check for all six, have them sit parked in a huge garage like a set from Let's Make a Deal, with a cutout of Carol Merrill next to them, that would be too cool!!!

The Edsel Corsair is an automobile that was produced and sold by Edsel in 1958 and 1959. For 1958, the Corsair was built on the longer, wider Edsel platform shared with Mercury. For 1959, the Corsair shared the shorter, narrower Ranger platform with Ford.
So nice! A car in this class really should at least have air conditioning and power windows! Still, a very cool seldom seen car!
