1966 Australian 50 Cent Coin Worth BIG MONEY!!

In 1966, around 36,000,000 fifty cent coins were produced at the Canberra Mint exclusively. The production of this round highest-denomination coin stopped when silver price on the market got up by around 80% in a few months. We know that the mint melted down a large amount of them early in 1966 and recalled a lot of them each year since for melting/profit purposes.

They are extremely common here in Australia with collectors and stackers Mint state examples can be brought here for $10-$15 Aus

the round 50 cent coin is not super rare at all just about every collector has them I myself was given 5 that had been put away since they were made I gave one to my grandson and still have four of them along with a baby formula tin full of mostly great condition ( some like the day they were made and uncleaned) one and two cent pieces kept from a bank teller since change over sadly they are not rare either
