@@RGGarage I think I'll be following along, my 66 has been done twenty years, I wish the internet was around when I built mine, sure a lot of pointers. Just started a '71 Camaro project for my Granddaughter.

Your works looks good as usual. Got another job done on the old Chevelle. Open header rehab is always good. Cost of shipping up here is crazy too. Floor patches for the average are good if they cover the hole, are solid and watertight......who's gonna see them. Worked on the trunk floor of a friends '64 Valiant many years ago. Had already cut out the little bit of spare tire well that was still there. My buddy wanted to just patch the rest of the trunk floor but I had my doubts. I was cutting out a small patch in one corner and just as I finished the whole floor gave way. It was not as good as my buddy thought!! That was a crazy car. 4-door, slant 6 with 3-on-the-tree. He swapped in a 440, 4-barrel, 4-speed and rear end out of a wrecked Cuda. Both back doors were bolted shut to help stiffening the car. Be safe and stay well.

You're such a cool guy. Love you're channel brother! Love how you patch instead of replace. That's how I'm doing my late uncle's 59 Apache. I told my cousin if I replaced all the sheet metal. It would not be his truck. Just because it needed a patch welded in. And keep it original. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you.

Thanks bud. Going to have to replace some areas that are to far gone but definitely patch what you can. 👍👍✌️✌️👊🏻👊🏻

Good work on the floor, I’ve used torch on roofing for sound deadening on floors, the stuff without the gravel. Cut the piece to size, heat it up with a torch and slap into place. Seam sealer and sound deadening all in one

Hey, I enjoyed your video. I have the same issue with that back panel under the rear seat. I was only able to get one side and that was a year ago. Probably better off getting the whole panel and save yourself some trouble. Yes the shipping is a killer. 1966 Malibu convertible. Greetings from Monmouth County ,New Jersey. Keep up the good work.
@RGGarage2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Kyle. All ready ordered. Worst case, I’ll just make one side. Never see it anyway. Convertible. 👍👍✌️✌️👊🏻👊🏻🤙

I have a 65 cutlass. On the driver side someone replaced the floor from under the pedals to the part that’s raised for the seat. I wasn’t sure if that should be over lap or butt welded. I can reuse the pan but wasn’t sure if I needed to redo it.
@RGGarage Жыл бұрын
Ya , I’m going to do some floor spots. And over lap it like a half inch. Then seem seal.

Hows it look around the lower windshield? I had to replace my lower channel and part of the dash up to about the 2nd defroster vent.
@RGGarage2 жыл бұрын
Not bad. Most all the rust is in the back, but when I replace windshield , im sure I’ll have some hidden spots.

Just my opinion but just buy a complete pan set and do it right. Patches are getto!

I put that $800 towards outside panels that you actually see. Trying to stay on a budget. 👍👍
@jimmynoneyuh7534 Жыл бұрын
Can't believe you left all that deep heavy rust pitting and just fixed hole. Not sure why you didn't replace entire pans.
@RGGarage Жыл бұрын
Even though it was pitted. Floor is very strong. I have one new under seat pan. The other is on back order. We are on a budget and can use cash towards air ride and motor. It would be nice to have new everything but we are making a every day driver. ✌️✌️👊🏻 plus it’s only a Malibu not SS. 10k is the budget
