My dream car. Had an Aztec Bronze 396 SS in HS that I bought for $900. Nobody wanted them during the first gas crisis. I wrecked it in the rain a couple of years later and gave it away.

That 396 sure looks similar to one I ran for a couple of weeks in my pickup. Engine history story that was told to me was: Built by a speed marine shop. Only shop I knew of was way out on East Mission Blvd, near East End Ave. Any-who; had solid lifters, huge rocker arm studs, prob. 3/8 inch push-rods. The crank was turned .040 under, (biggest rebuild flaw that I noticed, besides the 396 platform inherent insufficient beef of the mains; to handle what this builder did to the upper side of the engine). Sold it for what I paid for it, back then it was: $300.00… (Difficult to comprehend price comparison back then, compared to today). Bottom line: Had not experienced an engine run so strong, plus gain nearby attention. Engine sounded like it had power, even at idle. The Chevelle you just drove, sounds about the same without the loud valve-lash clatter. Thanks for sharing Lucky.

It's got the right amount of gluga, gluga. I would really like to put EFI on my 1967 Ford Mustang 289, but I'm just to much of a cheapskate. My first car right out of high school was a 1965 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. Maybe someday I'll find another one. 6=8.

Lucky , How did you get the park lights to come on at the same time as the headlights on your 66 Chevelle ? The 66 Chevelle park lights don't come on at the same time as the headlights , this is the way the 66 was made , but your 66 Chevelle (Red Oxide ) black hood the park lights are on when the headlights are on
I was worried you painted your Chevelle. Thankfully, you didn't! Somehow, the algorithm has kept my feed from suggesting your videos! As for the cabinet clowns, you need to build an LS-powered leaf blower to send them the dust they send your way.
