Hey, guys! I'm glad I brought it to you! The precursor for the 240Z! Thanks! :) Jack

A rare sight indeed! I do remember seeing the very occasional one over the years, but even then not in decades. Beautiful car.

That a super nice Nissan for sure. Front to back and inside it shows a lot of thought made into the design and materials used. Thanks Jack.

Hey, Donny Boy Blue! I agree...Nissan seemed determined to not skimp on details and give the car a fair shot at the competition! Thanks! :) Jack

Hey Jack. Beautiful car. I used to know someone who had one like this. She would use it for many things. 🙂

@coolrides I was way too young at the time to drive a car, but I've seen Dattos of this vintage. My aunt and uncle had a Datsun PL521 1500 pickup truck. 🙂

Hey, Jason! Datsun was a very popular import at the time! The pickup was particularly handy! Thanks! :) Jack

Jack, with the history of excellent Japanese roadsters, I'm amazed that Mazda is the only one still producing one. Which, btw... is a great car.

Hey, Audie! Yes, it is amazing! I've been seeing articles about the decline of the sports car, and I guess it's true. We've seen it in the recent demise of the Camaro and the Charger and Challenger. The electric version of the Mustang has been VERY disappointing in sales. Instead, we have our SUV's and luxury pickups! What has happened to us? Thanks! :) Jack

So true....Nissan knew what it took to be competitive with cars that had almost taken their position in the market for granted! Thanks! :) Jack

It is a Datsun, not a Nissan, they didn't start using the Nissan name until 1982. Some of these little cars had a "mother-in-law" seat, mounted sideways behind the passenger seat. When I was in Japan, I had a friend who had put a Fairlady Z engine in his. . .damn that car could fly!
@coolrides23 күн бұрын
Yes, it was called a Datsun, that's correct....but Nissan had taken over the Datsun company in 1934, yet still allowed cars to be called Datsun. Thanks for the information. :) Jack

Style-wise it looks a bit like an MG Midget but with a 1600cc engine I’m guessing it’s more the size of an MGB.

Hey, Mick! It impressed me as about the size of an MGB. Thanks! :) Jack
