Nice work, when i did my rocker panels I used a expanded wire coat hanger and taped the hose to it, it worked like a charm. I was able to bend it as needed to get into areas with precision.

Nifty sprayer hose ($28 kit), we’ve used the Eastwood products here and there with good results. Been watching for a while, keep up the good work.

Nice video, I saw someone else use the same can, with the applicator hose, they stretched it out and taped it to a thin straight piece of wood, might help if you do other areas.

Good idea. Also maybe taping a piece of wire along it . Something that can be shaped easily enough but also able to hold its form.

Did you make those firewall patch pieces? Mines rotted on the outer pieces
@dubsgarage3 жыл бұрын
No I didn’t make the firewall patches. I purchased them from CJ Pony Parts

The firewall patch panel extends down to the upper portion of the upper floor pan.

@@dubsgarage perfect, just ordered the parts, do you have any tips for install?
@dubsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Measure twice and cut twice. Make your first cut smaller than the panel. Then start fitting it again and make your final cut. Be careful with the insulation behind the firewall it will burn.

Why not take the cowl off?
@matthewthomas59973 жыл бұрын
1000 spot welds hold it in.
@dubsgarage3 жыл бұрын
Like Matthew stated, there are roughly 220 spot weld holding the whole cowl assembly on plus the cost of the new cowl sections would be roughly $400 to $500.

@@dubsgarage but if rust dont sleep..how do you know got it all?..or was all the metal you sprayed solid?
@dubsgarage3 жыл бұрын
All the other metal inside and around the flanges was solid with minor surface rust. I’m using the rust encapsulating paint on the inside to stop any further rust. When I get the seam sealer removed around the outside flanges I will either treat it with the Ospho rust neutralizer or use some more of the Eastwood rust encapsulator.
