it sounds great and looks great with the tailpipe shortened. I have seen several that were left long, and it looks horrible. I like it! Now you can get your paint matched and your good to go!! Since you don't have an exhaust for the 3B anymore, you may as well put that turbo V6 that I have layin' here in it!

Haha I’ve gotta figure out how to get that thing down to Tennessee 😉

Very nice quick job. Looks great. My tailpipe extends way out - been that way for decades likely. Think I’ll nip it off shorter too. Thought maybe it needed to be that long to prevent exhaust sucking up back to the occupants but maybe always was just leftover length people could cut to whatever they wanted.

Hey mate, thanks so much for your Channel. You have given me so many ideas for the Jeep I'm building (Ford GPW.) The purists aren't happy about some of the things I've done, but I'm a four wheel driver, not a collecter.

Glad to hear it! You gotta build a jeep that works for you!

That center exhaust manifold stud hole goes into the water jacket, so hope you put some thread seal on it. I've just replaced all the manifold studs on my 3B. It had a hotch-potch of bolts in there, so all replaced with UNC/UNC studs and UNC brass nuts.
@SevenBarSalvage Жыл бұрын
Oh man I’ve never heard that I’ll have to go back and seal that up, thank you for the tip! The brass nuts are cool I might have to hunt down some!
@randallstewart84876 ай бұрын
@@SevenBarSalvage Usually brass nuts are one time use only,good idea to replace them anytime they are removed,best part is they wont seize up!

@TheOldaz1 is that bolt the only one that goes into the water jacket? I’m about to do mine and replace all the studs.
@quietnoise01133 ай бұрын
@@randallstewart8487 I see online some say the outer bolts but mine actually has corrosion and seeping at the middle top one. I guess I’ll see which ones leak some when I take them out haha
@randallstewart84873 ай бұрын
@@quietnoise0113 I reread his statement,I think he was referring to the middle stud that holds exhaust to block,I will do some checking to see how many of those exhaust manifold studs screw into water jacket!

The VHT high temp failed for me at break in. I cleaned, applied and cured for an hour at 250, sat unused for months. Once it heat cycled, wrinkled and peeled like a East Tennessee gal.

I replaced the exhaust on my '57 CJ5 the same way you did - it also had the stud broken off between the manifold and down pipe. All turned out good for me as well. I sure wish my windshield turned out like yours did on your 3B though. I broke two of them.

Man that stinks… it’s not an easy job I learned a lot on that one! Good job not giving up though! Thanks!

I bought the same exhaust kit for my F134 and had the same problem you did with the bend over the axle. I did a work around same as you.
