Im pretty much doing this to my 67 convertible. It started out as a T code very basic convertible. The previous owner put in a 289 from a 68 which has some internal improvements. Put a modern edelbrock 4 barrel carb on a Weiand manifold. He backed that up with a T5 5 speed manual transmission and some big wheels and tires. I've put in a modern AC unit and dual adjustable coil over shocks. Next I'm putting in a Shelby 8k tach and a oil pressure gauge in the clock delete with the delux aluminum dash panels. Also the gt fog lamps and gas cap.

Great video. I still buy Fords on the X-Plan (Former A-Plan Ford employee). In 1964, my Father-in Law did in fact order a "Pre-GT" Convertible Mustang with many options that the dealers couldn't even get. 5 (o) code paint, H Code diff Locking, Pony Interior, Rally Pack- (Dealer Add) , Manual front disc brakes, Special Handling Package, K Code 289, AC, and other options. I went over the RPO, and these things were actually included in the build sheet. He had the car for years and sold it in 1992 because his kids were fighting over who gets it when he dies. LOL. I only know all this because I was building cars (Camaros) back then and I was the only one he trusted to work on it. (I know, Chevy guy at the time) He was upper management (FordPDC Manager) and I just assumed he had privileges. Never been able to understand these options on this car because technically, they weren’t available. My question would be, were there in fact employees allowed to order options not available to the public?

Wow! That's amazing! To my knowledge if the "employee" was at the "brass hat" level then YES they were able to order things that were unavailable to the public. I wonder where the car ended up... do you know?

My dad had a 67 390 hi-po white GT convertible 335 hp the only two things my dad hated about it was it had a plastic window and it did not have posi which we all know when you do a burnout gets extreme wheel hop so i said the only two mods I would have done to that car if I would have been able to get my hands on it would have been a glass window and I would have changed out the rear end to accept either 3.55 or 3.73 Posi I mean come on that's the only way to go!!!

Both look great... Personal preference is the torq thrusts on the "more aggressive" looking fastbacks and styled steel wheels on the convertibles. Another awesome video from MyRod!

A beautiful car indeed. I love it !!! It's a shame that deluxe door trims were not fitted to the car, just the polished aluminium inserts, but with the "standard" armrests instead. Only a minor issue. None the less, what a beautiful car !!

i don't understand WHY there are not more 67 owners who wouldn't add the rear grille. is it not avail as an excellent repro?

I agree with you, I recently bought a rear grill for my 67 convertible and it was very hard to find and they had 2 types 1 for convertible and 1 for fastback/ coupe. I haven't mounted mine yet but from everything I've heard and read they are tricky to mount correctly due to the rear panel being curved.

Are you sure that luggage rack is factory? It looks small compared to all the other ones I've seen on '67s.

No, I am sure it is not ... oversight on my part
