Mine was a '68, 400 H/O, Holley 850 double pump, Accel ignition from top to bottom, Hurst 4 speed, Mickey Thompsons on the back and shackles (couldn't afford air shocks).....and my state of the art 8-track player. Bought it in '74 (in stock condition) from a little old lady whose husband had passed away for $500. Metallic gold with black stripes....seems like yesterday.

Great car, I put a 428 in mine with RAIV cam, 1966 Tri Power and 4spd. Never could keep rear tires on that thing!

Bought a 1968 Pontiac back in 1973 when I was 16. Worked summer jobs, weekend jobs & after school jobs & made my dream come true. Now that I'm retired I will have another one. Thanks for a ton of memories and what a beautiful car!

Pontiac Firebird an iconic car for me growing up late 60s, still a fabulous looking car today, from an unrepeatable era, thanks for putting this on, its just epic.A feel good factor of 10/10.

Loved my ‘68s. Loaded a 455 with 3 deuces and a turbo 400 in mine. Yes the hood closed over the airfilters and it was a super sleeper! The thing was unbeatable and ran 7,000 rpms all while being a smooth daily driver.

in the 70's when i was in the army my friend would borrow my toyota corolla to go on longer trips ( to save miles on the hot rod ) ! and leave me the 67 firebird 400 / 400 / bm shit kit 456 rear end and all the race winning goodies cherried out for show ! another friend had the 68 chevelle nearly track ready ( but still stret almost )! like a practical married person I didn't buy the hot-rod off the lot for $2500.00 pre built ready go turn key ! I bought the toyota corolla station wagon for the same price to be practical and have good gas mpg (the hot rod burn almost the same mpg ) ( but I had to be practical because I was married ) ! looking back that was stupid because as soon as I got out of the army ( for her ) ( she had my 2 kids then she felt that the government was a better provider than me and left me ) ! now I didn't get the hot rod because she would have left me then ! looking back the hot rod would be the better choice ! just think of the fun that I could have had and what I gave up for her ! and the hell I went through because I didn't choose well ! get the car if she dont like it tell her to bugger off( before you have kids )!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job. I normally cringe when I see stripes on a firebird (or even a Camaro that isn't a Z28), but the way you did them looks really good. Keeping them so close together and then tapering them to a point in unison with the hood's design, worked out nicely. The car is modified but not too modified. In the ride along, you actually stand on it. Not just some lame ass drive around in a neighborhood. Good job on the car and the video as well.

I owned a 1967 Pontiac Firebird with an inherited 400 hood and hood tac that was clearly not stock for the car, which was originally just a 230. When I bought it, the engine had been swapped for a 350 bored .030 over for a total of 355 CI. Then we swapped it out again with a remanufactured 350. Lots of Bondo work given the rusted quarters, but it looked great with its Volkswagen canary yellow paint. ;)

Runs and sounds like a Pontiac should. Reminds me of my’65 GTO with Isky cam and headers. Very nice car

Miss my 67! Mine had a 326, 3 speed, deluxe interior in white with red interior. Yours also is kept clean and original, minus the stripes...love it!

Cars were sooooo much more beautiful back in the day. All these legendary American muscle cars like the firebird, trans am, Camaro, Mustang, Charger etc, the english Jaguar E-types, aston martins, the German classic BMWs and the vintage Lambos and ferraris.

If you want a real beast put a 428/390 hp Pontiac HO engine in a firebird! Bring the. Revs up to 3,000 rpm, sidestep the clutch and hang on to your Clyde honey!

Sweet machine. Good video. Would've been better with more eng. details, and a ducks ass spoiler on the rear to compliment the frt one. Loved the ride-a--long, and inside/outside shots. Need more eng. pics, and less body panels. Hope to see a functional scoop/air cleaner assy in the future. And "please" dump the crap music. (Thanks)

Very cool car, would love to have that in my garage! Tip for your videos: Drop the weirdo rap music. It sucks. I and I'll bet overwhelmingly, the majority of viewers would rather just hear the car. Not the techno rap crap. At least play real music from the era of the car.
