Interesting that Sid and Dick were prolific comedy writers in the 1960s where they often were found in the Lyons Tea rooms Forest Hill SE London working all day on scripts. They even wrote for Cannon and Ball in the 80s where they re-used comedy material they had written for Morcambe and Wise decades earlier ! Both died in the late 1990s, do what you got to do when you can because it just doesn't last.

That is really interesting, I googled them but could only find them on a few Posters of the time, so I'm glad they did have some success. 👍 A tough ladder to climb!

I think that was a different Sid and Dick. The comedy writers were 'Hills and Green' rather than 'Jackson and Collins' who were in this documentary.

Excellent clip. Shows how the traditional British seaside resort was already in decline in 1967. Odd that it was filmed in colour though.

Trivia for you - this is officially the first Man Alive episode filmed fully in colour. Though it is rumoured some random colour clips and studio segments of the programme did occur earlier in the year. BBC2 was officially colour from 1-July-1967, but had been doing tests for months earlier.
