I know my parents' first house near to Ashford, Kent, cost £2460 in 1962. My mother's parents paid for it as a wedding gift. Even so, there was never much money around. I had 3 siblings. My mother was always ill, so we were left on our own a lot. My dad did have a car, as he was a sales rep.

My grandmother was an Edwardian born in 1911 called Beryl Winnifred Tattershall and I absolutely adored her and even though I lost her 20 years ago I can still hear her voice, remember what it was to hug her, kiss her head, I remember her funny expressions and I can vividly recall her entirely. Happier days ❤

I grew up in England before being dragged to Canada as a teenager with my parents.... I was very very against leaving my beautiful country. We weren't well off but I loved and was so proud of the Britain of the 70s. My mum who was a Sicilian war bride came to love her adopted home despite the weather and I believe that like me, she regretted leaving it for Canada . I miss the history every single day but I'm well aware that that Britain may be lost forever. We also live in a dystopian society here in Canada. We are following closely in your footsteps and I weep for the beautiful land of my birth. I'm not being romantic... I know that it was far from perfect but compared to now it was a place to ne proud of. My poor dad and others of his generation who fought for freedom during WWII must be looking on with sadness at the ruin that we have caused. I am SO ASHAMED and pray that there is still hope. May God Help us. 🙏😥

It appears that the boards are indeed gone now in 2024. Of course, there's now a wood fence blocking both the ground floor windows and a bloody cottage between the two houses-but there is it all the same. At least the second story window is now usable. The properties are on Kimberly Rd. in Bacton.

Loyalty and belonging gone. Beginning of the end. Globalization, if it doesn't trigger ww3 will cause untold conflict and suffering for future generations. The illusion of choice! Politics and media are totally corrupted.

The ego is a powerful thing. We've all had similar thoughts, but when you hear someone say them out loud, you realize how foolish and fleeting those ideas really are.

The first national betrayal of the working class. I was three years old when my aunty's house was demolished and she moved into a tower block, I remember thinking this is s**t then and nothing has made me change my mind in the intervening years. Now in 2024 tower blocks are now all that working class / middle class young people can aspire two. This is not the second major betrayal of the working class because there have been so many in-between. I may sound like a communist....I am not. There is only one party who says it as it is....vote Reform.

The man may be from a different time but he was clearly quite ahead of his time, even in 1975, regarding the social awareness of vehicles and how they might be managed politically. Lord Stokes would have done well to listen to his message. Congestion pricing in London is 20 years old now, and gasp!, there is even talk about it happening in Manhattan, New York.

This woman, along with W Carlos absolutely destroyed instrument based music, pioneering is all well and good if its something that actually helps music, in this instance though it took out a lot of the heart and soul that goes into playing an instrument. All they pioneered was the end of days for decent music, less than 50 years later most of the top selling records in the world are horrible electrical garble that sounds like the last 5 no.1s did. Thanks Delia, Wendy, and all the other lazy people for making music almost completely soulless and effortless.... PS, I love Classic Dr Who and the music, and I use Bandlab a lot for messing about, but this needed saying....

In the early 70s, there was talk of fitting each and every British person with a butt plug 23 hours a day, only to be removed to release gasses over 1 hour before bedtime into a special underpants fitted with a special filter to trap the methane Thank goodness it didn’t go ahead

OMG!!!... I've been searching for this clip off and on dor decades ever since I've had access to Internet. The only info I could get was on the walfman footage was a couple of mentions on some obscure message boards going back years... not even any stills. I was only about four or five when this was shown, seemed to last longer at the time showing the time dilation of a child's mind I soppose.. I remember sticking my head up my dad's jumper I was so terrified, which helped making it part of our family's loar . It serously effected me and this has really slain a few demons for me... So thank you BBC archive

When the BBC informed rather than just preached at us. Fyfe told it as it was - and is - Trains ruined Canals, Trucks ruined Trains, etc. Lord Stokes pointing out Electric Cars are a novelty, and actually use more fuel, to generate the Electric. Why did the BBC become a propaganda arm of the Left?

14:27. Unfortunately, no. 50 years later and driving has become as fun as a flat tyre. Congestion is worse, SUVs pack narrow streets and the motorway network is crumbling. One wonders what Mr Robertson, who passed away in 1987 at the age of 84, would make of Britain today.
