The 67 was the first year for the 12 volt headlights. They are the correct headlights for the car. Thank you for your comment.

Yeah....that was the first year that the beetles headlamps didn't look " teardropped"....But the other guy was right aboug the separate reverse lights....They looked like miniature driving lights , except located on the rear bumper....

In fact, 1967 was the year for some goodsized changes.......all except the overall body ; as is shown in the 1968 body....#1) increased horsepower #2) a 12 volt electrical system #3) new reverse lights #4) an increase in heated air inlets #5) small improved rear bumper design to accommodate the wider rear engine trunk lid..

For originality of a 67, the engine must be an H. Also, forgot about first year for 12V, and those headlight, and first and only year for backup lights on rear bumper, which were missing on this bug. Nice bug. Hope it went to a good homs.

You are right, 1967 US and UK got that upgrade, between 1968 and 1970 for the rest of the world.

1967 was also the first year of not including the headlight lense over the headlights themselves which housed the small running lights. The engines went from 1200cc in '65 to 1300cc in '66 to 1500cc in '67....horsepower ratings went from 40 hp ('65) to 46 hp ('66) to 50 hp ('67).

Hi. Where are the rear bumper- mounted reverse lights?? 1967 was the only year they were a separate entity on the rear bumper.The front headlights look correct & the 1500 cc engine would be a correct engine; first one for this model that year.

The fuel pump is a cheap Chinese one. It should have a (rebuilt at such low mileage) Pierburg fuel pump.
