One of the great all Ireland s two extremely talented and tough teams. Remember it so well the year I did my leaving cert. You can be justly proud oy your dad Paul and the whole wexford team. That was a great tipp team too.

A long time ago a kid came into school with what he said was the match ball from this game. We looked on in awe with maybe a touch of doubt but dumbstruck. Just saw who was in possession at the final whistle, Willie Murphy, my schoolmates Dad.

Fantastic to see those old games. Was a great fan of those old wexford teams such a swashbuckling style. Thankfully the game has not changed that much a bit faster and we don't have as many one to one battles. Wex ford surely were the comeback kings with limerick right in there too.

There is an implication that Wexford put Jimmy Doyle in bandages in order to win the match. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, it was during that era that Wexford were admired after losing an All Ireland Final to Cork. The fact of the matter is it was Wexford's time to shine. They were all great games in that era with Cork, Tipp, Wexford and Kilkenny.

This is a brilliant share - remember this final so well - loved that Wexford won - they were so special in the 50's and 60's - was at the 1960 final when they hammered Tipp - remember poor Jimmy Doyle with a huge head bandage - he was the big threat to Wexford that year until he was was accidently "skulled" early on :)
