1968 C10 part 1 Camaro gas tank install

Installing a fuel tank for a 1969 Camaro into the rear of my 1968 Chevy C10 short bed truck.
Spectra tank #gm32bfi (bought on Amazon)
A-premium tank straps for 67-69 Camaro (bought on Amazon)
2x 36in long 1in square tubing (lowes)
2x 6in long 3/8” eye bolts (lowes)
2x 12in long 3/8” all thread (lowes)
3x 3/4” long 3/8” bolt/nut (lowes)
Package of 3/8” flat washers
Package of 3/8” course thread nuts (for jam nut use, nylon lock nuts would also work)
Hack: if you have a torn or broken ratchet strap, keep the old strap to use as a softener for fuel tank installs or anywhere metal to metal contact should be avoided.

That is a cool azz Chevy truck “Hecho en Mexico” I have a 1968 Chevy C10 short bed but your has cool factor and seems to be in great shape on the rusting issues.

I haven’t had a chance to use it yet unfortunately. However, I hope to have the engine complete and in the truck in the next couple weeks and be able to fire it up. Waiting on a microsquirt system and scored a good deal(free) m20 Muncie 4 speed, so I’ll be swapping that in as well. These 2 additional plan changes have slowed progress greatly. Stay tuned for updates, i know it’s been a while.

For 150$ u can get an aluminum tank at amazon, It fits perfect inside frame and crossmembers,,,

True, and there are some good ones. However, they don’t come with supply/return fittings, sending units, internal high pressure pumps, baffling or the wiring to install like the one I got did. My experience with the aluminum ones is also hit or miss and they’re typically dirty inside. I also like the rear fill on this one vs the usual top fill. I have an Amazon aluminum tank on my golf cart, boat and small surge tank in my vw, but in this case it was cheaper to get the Camaro tank since it had everything I needed.
