I bailed on my lower hinges. Ordered new ones a month ago from Summit - on back order. Was able to rebuild top too. I feel your pain.

I bought all four hinges (OER) new from Summit after seeing one on the driver side butchered by a PO in the past and all of them had plastic bushings installed 😞.. The new Repro ones look like rigid quality, fitted with bronze bushings.

I would use brazing since the bushing is bronze and tach the bushing to the metal so the bushing can’t rotate. Edit: Install so you don’t break the bushings. Do not hammer the bushing in the whole way or it will crack. Use a nut, bolt and washers to press the bushing in. Once the bushing reaches the end of the hinge hole you need to remove the homemade press or else the end of the bushing will break. Now you can tap the bushing the rest of the way, about 1/8” with a flat object that FULLY covers the bushing head.

It happens and all that prep work for nothing, we all live and learn, I myself weigh in the cost of new ones verse a repair and sometimes it’s a crap shoot but new ones are probably needed moving parts that old and the availability of new one’s, some cars it’s no option due to no parts available

This is a learning process for sure. I think the rebuild kit I got was junk. The pins didn't fit the bushings.

That’s not cool. They could be used for mock up and better then nothing, good luck
