The rear tail panel is in, the rear window channel is rebuilt and the windshield gets pulled to see what needs to be done. This is part three of me figuring out how to do body work and paint on my Chevelle in my garage.

Excited for your project, I've restored several cars on my own and have been doing body work and paint professionally for 7 years. I wish more people would weld In new metal rather than slapping on Bondo. I would recommend making the patch at least 2 inches beyond the rust area always. Good job! A place in VA, belden speed has great windshield and rear window pieces to fix vinyl roof rot around the windows, well worth the$

Thanks for the tip! I looked up Belden Speed and I'm tempted by their front windshield patches. If I end up with more than I thought, I might just order them and be done.

Very interested in watching you do the bodywork on your 1968 Chevelle. I also have a 1968 Chevelle which needs alot of body work so I will pay more attention on your project to see if I can learn more than I already know about the Chevelle and bodywork.

You were talking about a stud welder, great tool for removing dents. Enjoying the 68 project, I'll be introducing mine at some point too. My favorite year of chevelle!

make sure when you feathering the old paint you want at least 1 inch per layer of paint so that you don't get the wavy finish
