Such a neat old truck...the sound of the revving engine and shifting remind me of riding the school bus as an elementary student many years ago

Wow, it’s going to feel like a brand new truck on the back roads with many good miles ahead. Going through the gears brings back memories.

Nice repair job Pete, the old girl sounds good when you are going through the gears and she should definitely handle better 👍

That's seems like a really solid older truck. And it's even better now! Great Job, Pete!

Thanks Chris! The old girl is pretty clean. I think grain trucks seldom get driven in the winter. Probably a factor.

Man yeah Mr Pete, absolutely loved the puller/installer😉 Looks like the expanded spectrum of work may have paid off!! My F600 dumpturck 68 model has ahocks 🤔 It is dayitn style wheels and actaully a 5spd with the 361. I do wonder and am curious about what was the deciding point!! I see that "armstrong" sterring system was spot on😉😉😁😁 Thank you my friend for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing whats next!! 😁😁🇺🇲🇺🇲👌🏻👌🏻

Thanks Nelson. Still a mystery to me as to what trucks got shocks and which didn't. Yes, good thing those big old steering wheels give you good leverage! 8 tons of shelled corn makes my little 330 work. That's what the lower gears are for I guess!

That's quite possible. I want to put a few more miles on it before I decide to do anything more.

@@farmerpete It's crazy the joy one can get just driving a truck like that. You don't need to go 80mph. to get anywhere and that booger will haul quite a load. Thank you. I miss my old '62.

@@eric_seguin I bought this truck 7 years ago in central Iowa. Paid the man, jumped in it and drove it 210 miles home.

I'm seventeen, getting heavily into the logging and firewood business and I am currently looking at one of these to get. How would you recommend it?
@farmerpete
@farmerpete 2 ай бұрын
@@anormalyoungster3661 They are good old trucks. Emphasis on old. They are geared low, 50 MPH on the highway is about tops. If it happens to have the old Firestone 2 piece wheels no one will work on them, and rightly so, they are dangerous as hell. Parts for the old hydra-boost brake system can be hard to find. This is a great truck for me, I don’t use it regularly and can do my own mechanical work. I’m not sure it would be a good choice for someone who needs a truck to use every day. That’s my .02 worth. Good luck!

@farmerpete Sounds good, and thanks a lot for the advice and info. I might just stick with my 69' c10 for a little to get used to the work and such. But if I have any other questions, I'll come back to your channel, consider me subscribed 👍
