I had a friend whose father in 1965 buy him one of the first mustangs that came out and it was great. He had the fasted car in town for a while. It was a good one.

I remember that I first saw this commercial while watching Super Bowl 2. It was long but it was the only commercial during that break.

The song is sung by The New Christy Minstrels. This was an attempt to market the Mustang to older customers, using the car's youthful appeal. This commercial may well have marked the beginning of the now-mandatory "mid-life crisis" for people over 40.

I guess different strokes for different folks. I all ways liked the Mustang 1968 commercial song. To me it had a catchy beat. That's only my opinion.

Yea but it was a different time back then. Men were men and women were women. And everything was cool. She is not ugly and not thinking anything is wrong with commercial. Truthfully, I wish times were like back then. Simple, good, and nice .

They just don't make cars/commercials like this any more. Music by the New Christie Minstrels, I think.

At the 53 second mark the driver of the car that drives away from the rejected football player has a strong resemblence to Green Bay QB Bart Starr who was playing the super bowl when the commercial came out. It isn't him but I am sure the resemblence was on purpose. Also the rejected player also had a resemblence to Green Bay RB Donny Anderson. Probably Ford sold lots of cars because some people probably thought it was really them.

2:41 i SO wanna do that. im gonna try and buy me one of these. these cars nowadays they all look the same, they all have the same features and they are not unique. cars these days are simply commodities. i don't want a comodity i want a piece of art. Mustang makes you happy!
