This is first class. You take your time and do it properly. Very impressed.

I envy you being able to order parts. Amazing what time and the internet has brought us. Last time I rebuilt one was in 1975, and even back then new parts were limited to a few things, and most used parts were real junkers (after spending many hours digging through cycle junk yards). Had to make a custom harness for the handle bars, and the little switch parts (springs, ball, ...) in the grips were not easy to repair or find reasonable substitutes for.

Dick, thank you for filming your process. I’m about to restore a CB350K4, which will be my first motorbike restoration, and your film has given me just a little more confidence to do so. Just waiting on a set of JIS Screwdrivers to arrive! Cheers, Gav. :)

Outstanding video series! Love the old Hondas. I am preparing to restore a honda cb400f and your videos are great inspiration and help. What size air compressor and type of paint gun did you use for your paint job. Thanks for your help and keep up the great work:)

Hello, Thanks for watching and good luck with your project. I have a 6HP 60 gallon compressor but any compressor will work for painting motorcycle parts. Here is a link showing the gun I used www.pandatools.ph/Badger_Touch_Up_Gun_400

Nice job on the seat. I wish mine was worth saving - I will need a replacement ('69 CB350 left to the elements for 35 years!).

Amazing job on the paint! I am restoring this exact bike in red currently. Long shot but I don't suppose you know of a close color match for the honda candy red?
@DickShaw2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but no. I got lucky finding my blue which ended up being a near perfect match. I just looked at color samples online and picked one I thought would be close. Here is a link to where I got mine. This is base coat/clear coat system. Scroll down and you will find the metallics. tcpglobal.com/pages/urethane-basecoat-paint#red

Where are you sourcing all those parts???
@DickShaw3 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thanks for watching! I did an internet search for Honda Motorcycle parts and found several good sources. Three really good ones are Partzilla, 4 into 1, and CMS. Also I found some stuff on eBay. Got the tires from Revzilla. Hope this helps.

@@DickShaw Thanks...I really enjoyed the series and noticed the amount of OEM parts you had sourced. I seem to find lots of aftermarket and then it’s buyer-be-ware...some of it is good...and some real bad. The bike turned out great and I was impressed that you seem to be just as accomplished with cars!

Who do you use for your repair parts ?

I bought a lot of items off of eBay and here are some other places I ordered parts from: 4into1.com (got most of my parts here), partzilla.com, common-motor.com (these guys have a lot of how-to videos that are helpful), revzilla.com ( bought my tires from them). Hope this helps and good luck!
