Anybody notice the "MICH" in the north end zone. I don't remember that being done at non-neutral sites. I was 12 at the time but this game kick started my Buckeye life!

It's a shame that of the 3 games between 68 and 70 only the 69 Michigan game survives with loving crystal clear video quality. The two Buckeye wins, as important to us as the 69 game was to Michigan, are of much lesser viewing quality. Make no mistake I enjoy viewing the 69 game as that Buck team was the best I ever saw, allowing for generational differences in athletic ability.

I agree. The '70 win was a great revenge game for the Buckeyes. But the Wolverines can take something away from it too. After what happened the year before, OSU s/have KILLED Michigan, a repeat of '68. But Mich stayed close for most of the game, 13-9 late in the 4th quarter. Ending with 20-9. All three games deserve a DVD, like 1969 got.

In the 70s, I had a large poster of two players in my bedroom. One was John Brockington from his rookie season as a Packer and the second was Dick Butkus. As a high school football player, I always wore the green and gold packers jersey under my uniform. Number 42, of course.

Thank you for this video!! I was 12 years old when this game was played and I remember watching it because my Father watched every game. After dissecting this game for over 2 hours I see that Woody did NOT just have a 3 yards and a cloud of dust team. We need a run game like this NOW!! The backs in the backfield, the blocks, the fakes, the power, the variety of players carrying the ball - all that. The spread is cool and all but some of the game we can line up like this and play some smash mouth FOOTBALL!! We currently pass too much!! The Linemen want to BLOCK SOMEBODY and not be hit all the time with the passing game!! You throw about 15 plays like this in a game, with our Linemen, the opposing defense will be so battered we can do nothing but WIN!! I will be back later because I went to the Ohio State University K-12 school and I have a Rex Kern story! O - H ! !

You never want to humiliate your arch-rival. That was very foolish of Woody to rub it in and it cost him a perfect season the next year. 1969 would have gone down as Ohio State's greatest team.

Bert Charles did the Broadcasts from WCPO Radio which was the FM part of WVKO AM. He owned the Stations and had the exclusive radio rights up until the early 80's, I believe. He sold the Station to Sunny 95 in the early 80's and that is when WBNS bought out the radio rights to the broadcast OSU Football games. I am writing this totally from memory but I believe it is correct. Also, remember Paul Warfield used to be the color analysts on the WOSU TV rebroadcasts of Buckeye games. I think he did that up until early DECRO (early 2000's).
