I think this really shows the conundrum that the automotive world is going through. I simply adore old 911s, and the sounds are a HUGE part of the appeal, especially one with some slight tuning. It will NEVER be as fast or reliable as this modern car - but that isn't the only reason people buy these. I'm really torn. The power, simplicity and sheer HOLY @$#!$%# factor is just huge! But man, running a weber-equipped 911 through a tunnel is something that you'll never understand in a car that goes WZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

This is why we spent years developing this kit, so that it could be bolt in, and reversible. Just like a wheel and tire combo, it can be changed back to stock at any time, so there is no change to the original body and chassis. We're not environmentalists, we're a speed shop, so the intent is to make the car faster, not cleaner. That's just a nice side effect.

It would be appreciated if you provided a 'basic' specs sheet for the end product....like 0-60 time, estimated range, maximum power, top-speed and approximate cost (installed). I know some of this was sprinkled through the video but I didn't hear anything about range or $. Great kit and I'm going to be interested once the improved batteries make it to market in a couple years to allow for increased range in the limited battery space. Is this ready for a Cayman?

There might be methylene as fuel in the future as it is sustainable fuel so converting it to methylene would be better

Better than letting it rot in the garage because you arent allowed to drive it anymore. Aslo, if you are new here... EV West conversions use all the original mounting points so it is a reversible conversion. They are classic car lovers and do as much as they can to preserve the original vehicles. They dont even usually have them repainted.

Yes EV's are instantly fast but also drain fast then spend at lease 20-45 mins somewhere charging ? Ask the Tesla drivers in Chicago how much they love their EVs... lol . 32kwh capacity, what does your miles per kWh come out as? Clearly lighter than a Tesla probably with less frontal area. Would like to think you are achieving 4.5 miles per kWh? Say 135 mile range? Does your installation include regenerative braking? Maybe a rear seat box with an extra 16kwh battery and just a single Tesla motor would give more than adequate performance and greater range?
@smwsmwsmw
@smwsmwsmw 4 жыл бұрын
Came here to ask the same about regen. Since this 911 is RWD only, no mention was made of any motors in the front, and the front does most of the braking, I have to assume that there is no regen.

32kWh? Only the first-gen Nissan Leaf had a smaller battery. Though in fairness, I've found it mostly adequate for the past 10 years, but I understand why you'd do it with a Porsche; it keeps the 911/912 lighter, more nimble.

What a neat idea, offering "plug" compatible replacement electrical power units! This could work with any vehicle and would be certainly profitable for cars that have been market winners produced in large quantities. You just find a model with a timeless look like the Porsche 911. Once you remove the ICE and all its accessories (radiators, gear box, gas tank etc..) you are left with enough real estate for the batteries as electric motors are small compared to what you have removed. Great project for a start-up... and to attract Climate Change suckers!

It's just not a 1968 Porsche 911 anymore...no matter how cool it may be. When you remove the engine from a Porsche or a Ferrari, you remove it's soul and kill it.
