She was born in Washington, D.C., six months after her father was assassinated. Her mother chose the name "Rory" after the last high king of Ireland, Rory O'Connor who ruled in the 12th century.
On December 19, 1968 (a week after Rory was born), her mother took her to her father's grave at Arlington National Cemetery. Kennedy's older brother Michael LeMoyne Kennedy was assigned as her godparent by their mother. In December 1997, she tried to resuscitate her brother Michael after a skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado, which was fatal.
Friends of the Kennedy family said Rory and Michael spoke almost every day of their lives.
When Rory was a teenager, she was arrested during a protest outside the South African Embassy. When she was 15, her 28-year-old brother David died from a drug overdose. Rory graduated from Madeira School and then Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
During her sophomore year at Brown, Rory organized a rally in front of a Providence supermarket. In solidarity with migrant farm workers, she urged shoppers to boycott grapes

True, but they had endless cash and massive homes and servants. Imagine being widowed, and having no cash, worrying about making ends meet, may have to move house, no babysitters, and having to work, or wash clothes, dishes, etc. Still very privileged and this makes it a lot easier.

That’s the way it was for a lot of Irish Catholics, especially prominent ones! Any kind of contraceptives… She would get pregnant, have a baby nurse it until it’s time to be weaned and then handed them off to one of the nurses to raise and she would get pregnant again! The cycle continued up until Bobby died… I believe that if he hadn’t died she probably would’ve had another 5 - 6

My mother lost my father when she was expecting me. They were so madly in love. He was just 27..so I was an only child.i was never lonely because with God's grace my grandma had a surprise pregnancy so 363 days after my birth I got a little "sister"..she was technically my aunt. It was during the war and grandma took care of me while mother worked and so she had 2 babies to care for at age 41. Families are so important. I am now 79 and so hope there is a heaven because everyone is gone but me and my children. I carry my fathers name and look just like him. I did not really understand my mother's totally until I had my children. My mother was so brave just like Ethel, but eleven children and she always smiles..her children are blessed and so was i.

Ethel had too many children . Jackie refused to let Caroline and John Jr visit Hickory Hill , since their cousin were too wild . I don't blame her . Ethel had more children , than she could discipline . The nanny and servants couldn't control them , either . They were left to their own devices and became a wild brood . The lack of supervision lead some of the boys to become addicts and alcoholics . David didn't have support , after the death of his father . Ethel had too many children , to comfort . She sent the oldest children away , after her husband's murder . David died of a drug overdoes in 1984 .

@@franksarna4595 - The press always knew of JFK’s life-long history of womanizing…even during his presidency but chose to say nothing. The Kennedy brothers shared the damaged and deeply depressed Marilyn Monroe until she killed herself, possibly while Bobby was physically there at her home (an air force helicopter landed near her beachfront home the night she died). That their presence during her suicide could fall into the category of “conspiracy theory” the brother’s sexual affair with Monroe was not. What I hate is the MYTH of JFK’s Camelot which sanitizes all his flaws and his brother’s as well (some of this disinfecting was paid for earlier by their wealthy father). The rest was just our need for heroes. I thank JFK for what he did for the USA when he squared-off against the Soviets…but the rest was largely myth making. JFK was surprised when the Civil Rights movement landed on his watch. Jack was an extremely well read and intelligent man but he knew nothing of blacks or their struggle. He and Johnson were simply not ready, they were embarrassed into adopting the cause. They did not do so because they thought it was the right thing to do.

@@franksarna4595 - Not at all. Trump, in my opinion has already done severe damage to this country beyond his absurd and unproven claim (lie) of “Massive voter fraud”. His 3rd world style attempt to try to steal the presidency was nothing more than an attempted coup d’tat, worthy of imprisonment or even execution. The fix, however, is already in. Trump and the GOP have already pushed to place pro-Trump election officials in office that had earlier supported his fantastically stupid and dangerous “Big Lie”. He has cast doubt on our entire voting system and now, the specter of a real civil war looms large in the next presidential election…making the January 6th insurrection just the beginning of what is to come. They (the GOP) will not accept defeat in the next election without similar riots nation wide. I can only hope we have enough courage to prosecute him for his many crimes, sending him to prison BEFORE he has a chance to run. As for JFK, I only want transparency in our leaders even if they are involved in sexual shenanigans (I voted for a leader, not a saint), the COVER UP is always the real problem. Otherwise, you can expect Putin types in the White House who will never accept rejection of a 2nd term. Trump or DeSantis…will appoint themselves for life as president.

@@franksarna4595 It's not hateful, though: there's been too much evidence over the years to connect the triangle. All three of the "boys" had wardrobes full of skeletons.
