Great video. Love that you show some of the pitfalls and how you got around them so maybe I can avoid them when I do mine. I've got a '69 Torino. Goes great, stops poorly. Maybe I can look into this set-up.

Yes the booster is pretty nice. Still drive it all the time and no problems. Some people don’t like the feel of the booster but as a cruiser it’s a good upgrade

On the shaft that sticks out of the booster that actuates the master cylinder, mine had a threaded bolt with a round head on it. the instructions say that you have to use an "adapter" on some applications. Did you leave yours in or remove it? My master cylinder won't even go up on the mounting studs before they contact each other. This is a great video and I appreciate your detail.

Hey man, good job. Ive fitted more or less the same on my 70 Torino. Have a 9" disc rear as well and the pedal is pretty hard. How much vacuum does your motor pull? Mines only pulling 15" with a mild cam and I tink this might be the problem. Cheers

I have a 68 and I am doing same thing. The bracket with booster has master cylinder reservoir sitting right on shock tower. were you able to clear it ? looks like there is enough room for the rags you got there wondered how you did it. Thanks
@OmarRamirezGalaxie5 ай бұрын
Hi there, the master with the booster is real close to the shock tower but it should all clear. I did have to clearance the cowl seam in the video but it should fit. Is it the same booster and master?

Let’s get to it! Omar, I have a 64 Galaxie, 352 and 3 on the tree. No power steering. Do you happen to know if power steering can be added to it? I would love to have you add disk brakes and power steering to my car for me. Love watching you make improvements! Very interesting!
@OmarRamirezGalaxie2 жыл бұрын
64 galaxies are my favorite! Power steering can definitely be added. There’s a few ways to go about it, just depends how far you want to go into the swap. You can go original, modified with borgeson unit, or even something completely new like EPAS( electrical power steering)
@rickmintzell26302 жыл бұрын
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie , Yes, I think I want to go with the modified system with the new power steering box and no ram unit. How about rack and pinion? Do you know if that can be done?

Great video, I’m thinking about doing this to my 68 fairlane fastback. Did you have to change the brake pedal to a power brake pedal to work with the booster?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie2 жыл бұрын
I used the regular pedal. I have heard that the disc brake pedal is different, but I guess the new brake booster+bracket compensates for it with the threaded rod behind the booster

What unit are you using? Factory brackets have space to remove master cylinder, even big block. You have wrong MC, power brake, torino/fairlane front reservoir exits under unit.
@OmarRamirezGalaxie2 жыл бұрын
This a newer style setup, but yes on the original the front reservoir has a line on the bottom. It’s been working pretty good. Considering rear discs but I’ll see.

That’s awesome, these Torinos are getting hard to find! I actually bought the car like that. It looks like the previous owner made a bunch of pie cuts on the back of the quarter lip and hammered it, then welded it. Strange but I guess it worked.
@markbreaux66133 жыл бұрын
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie Yeah that's what I was Figuring but, it seems like I've seen a tool or something with a skateboard wheel on it, that bolts to your Hub in the rear and it rolls a Quarter Panel Flair.. @OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
@@markbreaux6613 oh yes I’ve seen that before. That only works for the inner lip. It will roll the inner lip so the tire won’t rub. I did it on my 66 mustang although it’s a lot more effective on the newer cars since it’s plastic and not metal

hello. if you convert only the front breaks, with a bolt on kit, do you need to install a break booster, proportioning valve or anything else to make the new disc break work? thank you
@OmarRamirezGalaxie2 жыл бұрын
For a new front disc brake kit, you don’t need a brake booster although it makes it easier to press the pedal. Without it you’ll just have a firm pedal which some people like. You will need a proportioning valve as the pressure to disc and drums are different. Also, you will need a dual master cylinder with the bigger bowl to hold more fluid for the front brakes

What I would change differently is get a proportioning valve in addition to the distribution block. I noticed the fluid is a lot less on the rear brakes. Thinking about it now, I might make an update video on it.
@carljacobson89033 жыл бұрын
I didn’t hear you say anything about a proportioning valve. I don’t think they had one on drum brakes. Should stop on a dime. Mine does
@OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
Hmm maybe I should install one. I did put a new disc/drum distribution block. But the brakes work pretty great now. I didn’t want to hammer it on the stop sign or I’ll go through the windshield lol

Thanks for your reply. I have a 69 Torino w/disc and rebuilt the proportion valve 2x to get it right. In the end worth it. Keep going.
