1968 Volkswagon type 2 Westfalia campervan part 2

Part 2 front suspension overhaul.
Last time I used it many years ago, it had a slight side to side play when turning on full lock. I've put this job off for ages and now I've set my mind to it I've then fixed it in less than 1 hour!
Shows you should just tackle jobs and not put them off!

So the grub screw is all that's stopping the hub and arms just falling back off when you drive down the road?

Yes. It also has a lock nut. But there is no lateral load trying to pull the arm out. You could say the same on most suspension parts where a ball joint is a mechanical press fit into a suspension arm. The deslsin is the same for all air cooled beetles campers.
