I had a '69 Camaro and loved it. It too had standard drum brakes all around. If anything the first modification l would have done was upgrade front disc brakes.

Nice video explanation. Gives me some needed insight to my Q A 1 install on my recently completed 1969 Camaro with big block. I used regular GM big block springs but with Hotciks type tubular A arms. It was too low in the front so I Tried 1 inch spacer but it dives down with any hard driving. I definitely think these adjustable coil over shocks are the way to go.Thanks.

Curious as to whether you can turn the wheel far enough to turn corners. I'd be surprised if the tires don't rub inside the fenders at more than 10 degrees either way.

Looks really good, my 69 Camaro is a numbers matching SS 396 so I feel obligated to keep everything OEM which severely limits the kind of upgrades I can do. I am putting in some QA1 adjustable shocks but with stock coil springs, and I might talk myself into upgrading the sway bar, I can always save the original one. Mine does have factory front disc brakes though, yours must have been bone stock from the factory.

I recommend not hitting the top of the balljoint. It'll mess up the threads of the stud. I hit the spindle with the castle nut on, but loose, until it pops and separates or like you said, use a separator. I personally have no luck with separators. I always rip the boots whenever i use them.

I'm doing the exact setup, hotchkis lower a-arm and QA1 coilovers up front. I'm wondering if you used the 1/4" spacer where the shock mounts to the lower control arm?

Bringing the front wheels out might cause interference with the fender lip during hard cornering. See how much clearance you have before installing a spacer.

That’s a very nice car dude. Love what you’ve done to it so far. Do you plan to convert the brakes from drum to disc any time soon. Perhaps I missed a previous vid on that subject. Apologies if you’ve already explained. Are you keeping a close eye on the money? I should imagine you’ve spent lots and lots. My missus would be keeping a close watch on me, but you’re doing great, love it.👍🏻🇬🇧

I do plan on doing s disc brake conversion very soon. Just trying to figure out what direction I want to go first (donor car for LS sway or just an off the shelf kit) I don't have a set budget for the car. I'm just upgrading one thing at a time as my budget allows.

Hey man , quick question. I literally have the same exact set up as you . However I noticed that when trying to level out my ride height up front that the actual coil overs were not equally adjusted. Seems like the passenger side needed to be lowered more to match the driver side.. did you come across this as well? If not what do you think it could be. I’ll be taking it this Saturday for a full alignment set up.
