Those 2 clips at the top wouldn't of held for to long .. I was very surprised 😯 to that there wasn't a lot of rust under the vinyl top either... Thanks for the info Al. Previous owners of my Camaro at some point grinded the trim studs off completely when they repainted, so I have no idea where to put her replacement trim studs, so I may just lean to leaving it off. I look forward to see the direction you go. Thanks again!

Absolutely the best choice in my opinion, especially if you’re going for the COPO look, I’ve seen some COPO cars with vinyl tops, but just not my idea of one, to me they should be light, stripped , and no frills. They were made for one thing, going fast. The second Yenko I had came with the same vinyl top and color as scraps, when I was restoring it, the first thing I did was strip the vinyl top off, had it been number matching, I probably wouldn’t have, but it wasn’t. I was never sorry, to me, it looked correct without the top. Just my two cents.

I’ve had several cars painted black and I think there’s no better color but with that being said you can’t go wrong with some of the factory option colors. Not many people paint them rally green and I think those factory colors are really cool. The rally green with a black vinyl top would look really cool and just my two cents.

Too do it correctly you should install the new top with the windows out and after it is painted because over spray is very hard to get off the vinyl top

Man that glass may have fallen out on it's maiden voyage over the first railroad track crossing lol. Scraps is trying to help you that roof could have been a can of worms. Personally, I could take or leave a vinyl top, but it has to cover all the way to the drip rails. Not a fan of the little color gap in between. I guess people use a 67 or 8 vinyl top on a 69. Now I'm rambling.... lol

I love the top, but to do that Camaro the wright way I would have pulled the top long ago and delt with what is under the that top. You have done a whale of a job on it you have to go the rest of the way and deal with what is going on around the rear window, That and your name is on it as well.

When I bought my first car ('70 LeMans), I removed the vinyl roof. Nothing anywhere near the level of what you are doing here, but hey I was only 16. I see what you mean about the onion. Good thing I left the windshield/rear window alone. lol

just a silly question have you ever owned a camaro with a bench front seat i just saw a picture of a 67 with gold interior and it had a bench in it sort of funny looking the roof is nice over all i always use one of those two dollar razor scrapers to remove the old glue just try not to let the corner of the razor dig in but if it does it does cant wait to see how you go about it you do many things that i never would have thought of which is nice to see
