Story: my 69 Camaro I got in 1988 for 2500$. I was a newlywed and young airman in Air Force. Worn out smoking 350 and a glide. Sucked. I tinkered. Dropped in a 468. Manual valve body glide and a 12 bolt with 4.11. Eventually ran 11.95 at 114. Raising kids and having money wasn’t common for me. That car has gotten me and my son through some of the worst. We have it in common. He’s a car guy now. I retired from active duty in 2005 and moved from KS back to IN to be near my parents. Went to work for GE. Son went to collision repair school and got a bachelors in auto technology. He did metalwork and first paint in school. He did paint again after because color silver was too silver. He’s successful now. Married and a son. Money is much better now and Camaro was gutted. New interior going in. 498 under the hood now with a 400th. Tanks in tank pump. Some new wiring. About to start it again. It’s silver now with rally’s and a set of slotted mags. Anxious to start. I’ll retire in 5 maybe and really play with it and even another.

I liked the story of your 69 camaro you had in high school. My story is similar to some degree. In 1971 my junior year in high school I received my first car. It was a 69SS Camaro with an automatic and 396/325 big block engine in fathom green. I loved that car. It was a head turner like yours. Five years later I sold it to a friend of mine because I was getting married. To this day I regret selling it. I wish I knew what the vin number was. Last I heard it sold back in the late 70’s and is possibly in New Jersey. Oh well, Maybe someday I will get another one.

Between the 2 brothers they had 23 67 through 69 camaros that were all decent cars. The 6 cylinder car you have on your lift would make a nice driver to keep a 6 in those 2 brothers cousin had a 67 that was a 6 cylinder car and it was that butternut yellow and he had the big micky Thompson n50s on the back with the skinny 4 inch cregers in front I loved the stance of that car and the fact that it looked like a 70s street freak but had a 6 cylinder automatic in it liked your video.
