Hi AL … I’m home from work now til Monday .. I have a really bad chest cold and it’s hard to breathe .. I went to have me looked at by a clinic close by and they took X-rays of my chest and also checked me out for covid.. All came back negative so that’s good .. I’m on a lot of meds right now to clear out what’s wrong .. Glad you decided to paint the entire car; you've put forth all the effort why not showcase your work with a fresh coat of Rally Green. Perhaps a White hockey stripe would add more contrast, also I like the day 2 look with aftermarket bolt on accessories.... Great to see another classic on the road again!

Primer with a coat of satin/matte clear. That says the car eventually (still) needs finish paint but the clear keeps the primer from absorbing water and oil.

Question about the Vinyl top, I believe my 69 Camaro had one aswell originally according to cowl tag, and has Been removed at some point. All mounting locations are gone. Is it very difficult to put those back on? Or even possible? Even worth it at this point to try and put one back on? Of course this would happen after re painted back to Dover white.

I personally don’t like any patina cars, if you’re going to do it, do it right, bring it back, it didn’t come out of the showroom as a patina car, none ever did. If you’re doing a hockey stick stripe, and leaving the vinyl top, use the mags. If you want to do a COPO look with dog dish hubcaps, forget the stripe, and strip the vinyl off and paint the roof as well. Just my two cents from being there when these were new. That was how most of them I was around appeared back in the day. It’s coming along very nicely.

@ I really enjoy your channel, it brings me back many years. And I did check out Spanky’s Garage, and I did subscribe. He looks to be a very high end restorer. I would say from the look of his shop he’s very successful, and has been around for quite some time. I’m looking forward to seeing your project being completed, no matter which direction you take it. My personal taste leans towards the COPO, I like the minimalist look and feel of them, and the fact I owned 2 Yenko’s might just have a little to do with it as well. LOL But either way, I’m sure it will be exceptional. I’m waiting for Spring to finish up my W-30, so in the meantime, I can learn things watching you work. 👍
