Way to clean and rust free to do anything other than take it back to complete original paint/interior. Like you said, not too many of those inline 6's left. Very cool.

My very first car was a 77 Camaro, Type LT Rally Sport with a 250 Inline 6, and a 3 speed manual transmission. It was a fun car that everyone seemed to like. I put on about 80k on it over the four years I owned it, and it was still running great when I sold it.

Keep as original as possible! Fix the minor rust, respray it, keep the engine and interior the way it rolled off the assembly line!

I have a 59 Biscayne 2 door sedan 235/3 speed 100 percent unrestored. People expect it to be LS’d and most people are thrilled to see it hasn’t been messed with like the other 99 percent have. Save a little history, leave it stock.

Being that it is in such good original condition, I would keep the 6 in it and restore to its former glory. If it was in bad shape I would have opted to go more to dropping an LS instead. Great little Camaro. I hope it gets a second chance at life on the road . Thanks for sharing ! 😊

In 1972 I had a beige 67 Camaro with a 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual trans. It had red line tires and a black stripe around the front. Very clean low mileage car. Wish I had kept it.

Keep the six. I’ve had several in 66 C10. 65 bel air. 71 nova. Reliable, easy maintenance. Not everyone is into all that power.

Wouldn't even restore it. I won't dare use the P word, but that paint is in good enough shape, that the car has so much life left that deserves to be used as it came from the factory. Ok, maybe a front disc upgrade. Everything swap's been done to death.

I would like to see it restored to stock, with the exception of modifying the inline 6 for more performance, perhaps with a turbo.

I'd keep it stock, maybe some subtle warming up of the engine (with careful pickling of the original parts). Like you said, when you see one of these at a car show, it always draws a crowd. In the end, it's up to the person whose name is on the title. Thanks for sharing, hope we get to follow along ~ Chuck

Keep everything original! This car's value is the originality from aged paint to the base model 250 6cyl engine. I would be interested in purchasing this car if the owner would sell it.

Before I would say pull that straight 6 out, but now I say get that thing rebuilt and add a cam, holley 4 barrel and header

I'd put a Duramax V8 with a revised Tremec manual transmission and a diesel particulate filter - no coal rolling! And I'd keep the Green interior, that's so unique and good looking.

Very cool Car! I can understand keeping it historically accurate, but boy that would be hard for me to do. It would wind up having a big block in it with a stick shift.

The leaf spring solid axle would go, in favor of some kind of IRS. The front suspension, that goes also, along with drum brakes and the recirculating-ball steering. Less interested the engine, but fuel injection and a bump in power would be nice.

Had a friend that had a Firebird and it had one of those weird 6 cylinder Pontiac engines in it. I can't think of it's designation right now.

It's either the OHC 6 or the Sprint 6. Sprint package had higher compression and 4 barrel Quadrajet carb.

To the owner.., It’s only original ONCE ! Save the 80 k that You might drop on the resto .. Just have em buff the OG paint out … Rebuild the 6 … And cruise it forever more….. ( they asked)🤘🏼🍻

Keep the car with the six and the green interior. I drive a restored 61 Impala Convertible with a 235 ci with 2-speed. Keep the rarity as is.

Build the six like they do the 4s. If they can get 4-500 hp out of those, why can't you with a 6 cyl. Turbo with fuel injection. Saw one from Tony that rips in a pick up truck

I'd just clean it up. Maybe clear coat it. Fix what's wrong and leave it as is.

LS, SBC and BBC have been done to death, what can a person possibly do that hasn’t been done and seen a million times already. Stick with the six, put a Muncie behind it, and stay away from all the aftermarket brake, suspension and steering kits, if you want upgrades, use factory replacement parts.

Do not resto mod it. There are NONE of these sraight six cars left, they have all been destroyed. Restore it correct and it will be worth a lot more than a mod engine swap custom color car.

Keep the 6, to many colons and over priced over restored cars. All cars deserve to put back to original specks I saw more none muscled up cars then hopped up heaps.

Im the original owner of a 69 Camaro with a 250 inline 6 with the 3 speed manual on the floor that I looked at rebuilding all original NOS, than to put a 496 stroker with fuel injection, TH400 with a manual valve body and hurst ratchet shifter and a built posi 9 inch it was only a few hundred more and I know I can drive it fast without worrying about hurting it
