Almost seems like wire speed was too low or a little more heat was needed. I have my son mess with it as i am welding to get the right setup. Great job thanks for taking the time on these vids keep them coming..

When it comes to stuff like this , my motto is usually this. Not looking for perfection, I just want to see an improvement. Definitely seeing an improvement here. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the great Videos, I always check your videos out before I work on my Nova. I have a 70 Nova and the dash around the glove box is very rusty, would you have one you could sell me off one of your parts cars. Thanks again.

Great video, keep up the work on the Nova. I wish I had one like it and could still work on them. That is the problem with being disabled and on a very fixed income...LOL... I just sold my last attempt to have an old classic car because the engine blew up and I wasn't able to swap in the replacement engine ('66 Buick Lesabre 4 door, only rust was in the package tray...). Well, good luck getting this great old Nova going in time. I am enjoying watching you work on my dream car. I had two of these old cars when I was just a kid back in the 80s. and they are a blast to drive. This one is going to be so fun when you get it going.

Your videos have been so helpful with fixing up my 73 GMC 350 ! It belonged to my brother who passed on and has sat for ten years in storage due to hard times and funding but I finally have both to get it back on the road! It still runs great just needs odds and ends and some patching, along with np205 front slip yoke and seal in transfer case but putty and paint will make it what it Ain't! Thanks so much for your informative and digestible videos that make things understandable for the Layman!

I hope you put Cor15 to protect the new metal pieces you patch in.

I paint and epoxy prime. POR15 is just an encapsulating paint with a very hard finish. It works good for certain areas but I don’t use it often.

Crazy idea…. the next one that’s rusted beyond repair you could raised the floor or put a fuel cell in its place and stuff twin turbos under there and have a secret twin turbo sleeper

What kind of welder is that? I'd like to learn how to do that type of work. Auto body is all new to me..
@Shop209
@Shop209 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a Lincoln 180pro mig. Make sure whichever welder you are using that you use shielding gas with it. The flux core wire can leave impurities in metal and cause paint problems

What blade do you use on the cut off tool. I have 1/16" 60 grit cut off wheel and its not cutting through like yours.

Watched every video you have posted, learned a ton. I have a 73 that needs a floor and tail panel swap. The previous owner converted the bumper to a 72 and patched in the license plate on the current tail panel. Wondering if you have ever done a full pan and tail swap on a 73 or 74? It seems like it can be done...
@Shop209
@Shop209 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! Yes. It can be done. To do it correctly you need to change trunk floor, rear cross panel, tail light panel and bumper. There’s a little fabrication involved where the 73/74 quarters meet the tail panel but it’s not bad.

Is there a way to do this and keep the trunk pan? My trunk is rusted out on a 65 Fleetwood, but I have a donor car with a good trunk. How did you get yours out without damaging it? Actually I need the “whole” trunk pan. You think it’s possible to cut out without damaging it?😂😂😂
@Shop209
@Shop209 Жыл бұрын
You could cut one out without damaging the part you need. It’s a lot of work and you’ll most likely have to damage all the other areas around it. You could cut around the part you need and then be careful to remove the parts you don’t.
