Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ the van is coming along nicely. The wheels look great on it and so does the seats. I like your graphic description of it being a death trap 😂 keep up the great work and the awesome videos dude ✌️🇺🇲

Check that foam tank padding , some foams quickly melt exposed to gas... And how about cutting the muffler pipe and running it out the side ... easy !!!

The test ride reminds me of an out of control carnival ride.😂 I used to drive delivery vans in the 80’s and they didn’t sound too much better inside.

Hey Lee, I was thinking that perhaps you could take the exhaust and turn it out on both sides just in front of the rear wheels . And also see if one of the wooden drink holders off one of the other van's dog houses cover Could be used. And maybe see if Dynamite or one of them people would sponsor you with some of their product or become a dealer for them. That would definitely get rid of all that tin can sound

That styropgone will just dissolve if gas gets on it. I would get a saws all and cut up one of those hundreds of old tires you have in your yard to make some straps. Get some cheap c channel to make you some brackets. Plus, the rubber wouldn't wear down. I'm just saying. Keep up the great videos, Lee! Yeah, I definitely would not want to get in a head-on in that van. You'd be the first one on the scene!

Wow Lee that water stream sure was weird I bet you were shocked to see that craziness. Love the seats they look comfortable compared to the factory industrial looking ones. Glad it was water spraying and not fuel.

I had a van exactly like this one. It had a V8 conversion but the mounting brackets weren't working. I played HELL making a bracket for the alternator. It was a real PAIN... so don't do that. The tight turning radius of this van will surprise you. Those nylon straps won't work for long, I suggest a modification of the steel straps with the nylon straps between the steel straps and the tank to prevent corrosion and wear. I also had the three on the tree and would definitely suggest either the powerglide or the Turbo 350. The turbo 350 will outlast the van with proper care, though you may have to modify the transmission mount. I'm loving this build and really like that you're moving the fuse panel to another spot behind the passenger seat. For something like that, you could use a marine fuse panel with breakers instead of fuses. Pop a breaker... and unless there's a dead short, reset it and keep rolling.

Even though you don’t need sidepipes, you don’t have to hook them up. They will still enhance the looks of the van. A lot of vanners don’t attach their exhaust to the sidepipes even if they have a V8. The seats are going to work out great and are a good upgrade. New door gaskets will quiet it down. I found them for a lot less than what you did. I mentioned the source and price in my comment on the last van video. The caulking might help some, but putting in some sound deadening mats will help a lot more. You don’t have to install the mats wall to wall like in a car. Check out Van videos on that. You can leave big gaps between each mat and the sound waves will be absorbed by the mat. Insulation will help it a lot. Don’t use foam or pink insulation. Use Reflectix to deflect heat and foam board to insulate it if you want. Check KZbin videos on installation tips. Yep, get the welder out and close up those holes in the roof. Keep the rain out. The gas tank looks like it will work great like it did in the Nomad! As far as safety, it seems like vans are involved in fewer accidents than cars. Don’t know why but maybe it’s because you set up higher and can see what’s coming at you. Vans aren’t speed demons, especially with a straight six, so you don’t go screaming down the highway in them. Keep up the good work!

I wonder about using the packing foam on the gas tank? I know if any gas comes in contact with it, it just melts....
