Super basses car and driver,unreal consistency ,wedge motors are under rated ,they really can take punishment and put out excellent power.

Yes Rhonda. Very underrated indeed. I had a 440 in an A body and preferred a 383 in it to be honest. The torque of the 440 was too much of a handful to be fun at least for me. It really needed about a 3.9:1 rear gear and an overdrive auto to get the power down. Mine had 3.23:1 lsd and it was far too tall for the power it had. If I did it again I would have a 440 but wouldn't modify it nearly as much as last time (or I'd do the OD 3.9 route since 20 years ago I didn't have the $$$s).

Badass little dart and is not only quick, but is also consistent. We almost bought a super clean 72 with built 413 wedge and was also very quick, but am bummed because the deal didn't materialize unfortunately. Is that a 440 ?, or is something else in it

This is way more impressive than a shit economy honda. Anybody can make a tiny light car fast, those guys with the Hondas could never get a heavy American steel car to go this fast nor be able to drive it. It takes a better driver and better mechanic to do this.

Wrong. Plenty of guys that build engines for imports can apply the same technical knowledge to making domestics fast. Building engines to generate high output is engineering, pure and simple. Science is applied universally, no matter what you want to make go fast
