Ben Sambrano's 1969 Dodge Dart 408 Stroker Build is a one beautiful A-body Mopar great for both show and go. Read more here: bit.ly/Manapua69Dart
Ben "Manapua" Sambrao acquires this 1969 Dodge Dart in 2018 as a turn key muscle car with the 408 Stroker engine being already in place. Built in North Carolina the small block Mopar was dynod at 615 horsepower, but as most enthusiasts Ben wanted more power. He added 250 shot of Nitrous from NX Express increasing the power to over 750hp.
The 408 Stroker motor is dressed with aftermarket headers, cam and 750 Holley carburetor. The 1969 Dodge Dart has a mini-tubbed 9-inch Ford rear end with 4.11 gears and 727 TorqueFlite transmission with reverse valve body and 3000 stall converter, which Ben has rebuilt right after he acquired the Mopar muscle car.
Another thing Ben did to personalize his 1969 Dodge Dart 408 Stroker was some interior enhancements with the most noticeable being the carbon fiber roll cage and he is planing to install a trans brake soon. So far the Mopar has been at 5 car shows in Ben's area and brought home 5 awards, which makes Ben very happy considering he is a Chevy guy.

dalesince59 Gorgeous car, great build. May I ask what you did to move the rear axle further back, and what is the wheelbase as seen here.
@dalesince5957
@dalesince5957 4 жыл бұрын
@@FreakOlds It is about a 3" set back .The car has frame connectors and a rear tube sub frame, tied together with a cage. The wheel arches are stock, I narrowed an 8 3/4 rear end and it is tubbed for the big drag radials. The leaf springs are not the super stock ones and it is using Cal Tracs. The reason I added some wheelbase was to add a little straight line stability at speed. This was built as a street car, and the previous owners goal was to get it in the tens, with no power adder. I had it running 11.20 on the first 408 stroker. I did not run the car with the current engine which has about 60 more hp. without the bottle. I have been told the the car pulls the front wheels now. Nice!!!!

Wow this brings back memories for me! Your car looks exactly like the 1969 Dodge Dart custom that I had when I was 17. It had the 273 Cu. In. V-8 with a 4 speed manual shift, hurst shifter, and Headman Headers. Sweet car, I had chrome reverse rims but I always loved the titan mags a real performer for its size.

@@HotAmericanCars . I have a 1971 Z/28 that I bought in1983. LT -1 with a M21 and 3.73. In the 1980s I ran it and did 13.4 at 102mph. No real 1/4:mile mods except traction bars which were only anti wheel hop bars. It does have a 280H cam and roller rockers and headers with the stock 780cfm and snowflake dual plane. I am more of a canyon Carver. It is a numbers matching drivetrain. In 2012 I kept to my canyon carving and went with coil overs and tubular A arms and hotchkis bars and SFCs. 4 wheel wildwood brakes and updated rushforth rims. Although rough riding it handles incredible. I wish I had this set up in the 1980s and 1990s. The fuel,cooling and brake system and exhaust are all new. It isn't really a quarter mile car but I love watching cars that hook up and go. Sorry but when you asked if I had a muscle car you clicked my " on" button. I will be watching more videos

Glad you enjoyed the story of Ben's Dart. Here is what the builder says in regards to the rearend: It is about a 3" set back .The car has frame connectors and a rear tube sub frame, tied together with a cage. The wheel arches are stock, I narrowed an 8 3/4 rear end and it is tubbed for the big drag radials. The leaf springs are not the super stock ones and it is using Cal Tracs. The reason I added some wheelbase was to add a little straight line stability at speed. This was built as a street car,

He sure said "Cams" in the videos, but that doesn't mean he is clueless. Not everyone has the knowledge and skills to build a car from scratch, but that doesn't mean we should hate this guys for buying and enjoying nice cars, right?

@@HotAmericanCarsI understand your point but, I didn't say anything about "hate" & yeah some people are in wheel chairs or blind or have no arms & they can't necessarily do that kind of work, but it isn't hard to learn, if you want too. Thanks for the nice car video.

@@HotAmericanCars to me there's two different types of dudes, both car guys 1 builds, 1 buys. i guess that what makes this country great. I talk cars to people that have absolutely 0 clue about anything, men women & children & I explain in detail so they can understand why I have this passion.
@HotAmericanCars

@@Moparmaga-1 The 2 types of car guys you're talking about exists in every country around the world brother. Take BMW's for example...huge communities across the globe where buyers and builders share one passion. You can also find a lot of old school muscle car enthusiasts in the Scandinavian countries for example who know a lot more than many muscle car owners in the States. The only important thing to me is to show cool car stories to people who are interested in these type of builds and this is my contribution to the preservation of American automotive history.

Nice quality looking build, runs nice. The rearend placement and the bulged rear quarter panels make it look like an ugly old 64-65 Chevrolet from the side. Big bucks to fix that now though.

As I was saying before clumsily hitting send, my Dart would easily clip 140 without any instability due to wheelbase, I just don’t buy that story

The quarter panels are not bulged, they are stock. I did not know I was going to start quite a crap storm setting back the rear end. I like the look, the guy I built it for liked it and it works well on the track.
