A year ago we contacted Vic at worldmotorcycles.com about restoring a sandcast Honda CB750 for us. It arrived in it's shipping crate a few weeks back and had to clear customs. This is our first "unboxing". Vic's done a great job with it!
The very earliest CB750's that were produced were this sandcast version: the crankcase was created using a sand mold. After engine number E1007415 the engines were die cast instead. Couple this with the fact that the early chains were to weak for the engine which caused them to shatter the crankcase and you have very few of these about 7000 bikes produced left in existence with their original sandcast crankcase. This is one of them.
Mark Haycock wrote in his book about the CB750: "This is properly identified as the CB750. Not K0 or K1, just CB750. This fact seems to cause a lot of confusion throughout the world. Perhaps it would be wise to use the title 'pre-K1 CB750'", so we've chosen to do just that. K0 was coined in retrospect and not an official designation.
The engine and frame serial are both around 2500 so it even has the horn on the left side behind the front brake hose, this was changed to the right at frame number 1003951 since the hose would foul the horn.
This is just the unboxing video, we'll have more videos up of this bike soon. Go to www.yamaparts.com to see more pictures.

Nice, worked on lots of them and changed out engine cases from drive chain failure. But title should call it like it is from Honda. It was referred to as a 1969 CB 750. They had sand cast cases. Once the K1 came along the 1969/1970 were reffered to as CB750 K0's by model year 1969 CB 750 K0 AND OR 1979 CB 750 K0 which indicates the first production of a new model; K1 indicates a major change to Honda motorcyles. The update to the CB 750 was major including engine, progressive linkage carburetors, cylinder head for oil delivery to camshaft, die cast engine cases with beefed up output chain drive and the 1st production motorcycle endless chain (without a removable master link) oil tank and many other improvements. Just picky on Honda stuff from my era and involvement. But great job, wish I'd kept mine!

I'd like to see this thing run right out of the crate. Put some gas in it, a battery, and some oil, and see if it will idle at 1000 rpm cold without stalling. Oh, and no fair holding the throttle.

Beautiful machine.I had the privilege of owning one of the last 750s.I sold it to a good friend who unfortunately died of an serious illness but we both had the good fortune to have ridden the best value superbike of that are. That bike is phenomenal. It is far superior to original condition.Fabulous to see craftmanship is alive and well.

Cool bike, but that music was horrible. Thank god for mute. Would've rather heard people talk about the bike, or just no audio at all.
