Yes, I have been looking for this version. It is my favorite version of this great commercial...actually as I recall a whole string of them based on this jingle. I recall radio ads as well with this jingle being sung by many different artists.. Johnny Cash was one. I know that some folks will only recall the negative things associated with this time and I acknowledge that they existed by my main recollection is positive and upbeat. We can never quite live up to our ideals but the fact that we even have ideals and that we try makes us better people.

Hi Grieg, I fully agree with you, we had innocence, respect of others (seniors), our community, hope and optimism for the future - I miss it, we had pride, pride to be Americans, those were the days! Peace be with you and may God bless America, Ciao, L

Voiceover by Hal Linden, sung by Ron Dante... Barry Manilow probably playing/singing on it, too... thanks!

I thought it might be one by Bobby Bloom, any idea the jingle he did for Pepsi in 69?

I sure do miss those old commercials - especially the ones for Pepsi Cola - as opposed to all these commercials for bottled water encouraging us to "stay hydrated." That being said, has anyone but me noticed lately that a great majority of TV commercials these days feature a dog - regardless of whether or not the product being advertised has anything to do with dogs? From cleaning products to insurance and everything in between. It's become a cliche. What's even worse are commercials for prescription drugs showing people walking around in garish work-out clothing having conversations about their health problems - and of course at least one of them is walking a dog. Particularly offensive are the ones that show overweight bald guy strolling around carrying a clipboard and high fiving everyone he meets along the way for no discernible reason whatsoever.

Why do they say "Pepsi", but then they say "pep-suh cola"? It's "Pep-see cola".
