Such a heartwarming story for us car lovers. AMC has always been looked upon as underdogs. That’s why I have a soft spot for them. Thanks for bringing us this story Pam.

That's really awesome! And such low mileage! I've got a model of the Rambler that I built about 30 years ago.

Nice little factory muscle car from the Rambler American. I remember seeing them back in the day, not common but not too rare either!

There were about 1,500 produced for only one year, 1969. Ford produced 299,824 Mustangs in 1969.

Hi Pamela these are two completely different but similar cars,,,the scrambler has always been a sharp car while the machine is just brutally honest,,, I really like both and I'm glad you showed them,, wouldn't have missed it for the world,, thanks from your#1 fan Glen

2 AMC road burners!!! To bad they were so late to the game. They had a great range, from the S/C Scrambler, through the Javelin to the AMX followed by The Machine. Boulevard cruiser, mean drag machines and America's second sports car.... all from little AMC!!! You are the Best, Glen!!! Thanks Numero Uno!!

What a fast time machine!!!!!!!! Just think, this is what you would have seen on a used car lot in 1971 or 1972.... We will now return control of your TV set......

one of the prob with AMCs reputation is that they never used their HI PO parts only the basic standard engine spec except for the machine which had a mild hi po tune the cam as still tame but had a better med rise intake and slightly larger carb , never could understand why the 340hp 390 was not an option in the 70 AMX, it would have made it run in the high 13s 14 flat areas, and the group 19 high lift cam and 780 holley could have been rated at around 355 hp range and made these amxs run mid 13s putting it near the top of the muscle car pack,of course, new emission laws and insurance would have been a slight prob.

Thanks for the inside, and I do mean inside, info Ivan. That is an interesting question! The Go Pack was an option. Did this have the go fast goodies in it?
