Yet another Lovely watch sir . I have one similar to this. Believe me sir , although, they do not have hi beat movement , even then they are very accurate . Much better than 7s26 and other modern seiko movements

I have a Seiko 5 DX 6106-8000R AD variant and the case back doesn't say 'Japan' or the 'DX' symbol on it, I've made some research and didn't come up with any solid info. Any idea why some say Japan and some don't?

not every Seiko was made in Japan, but when that started I don't know

@@Birthyearwatches actually the days are written in japenese, and it was shipped from japan, could be manufactured elsewhere back in the 60s and ended up in japan, maybe.

It is the term used in the UK for a car with an automatic gearbox, rather than manual. The relevance is you are not moving your arm to change gears, so not moving your arm isn't winding the watch
