I've been hooked on pretty much every Mopar work of art since I was a kid starting with my 1st car-- my 74'Duster...sure miss her!!! I've had a couple chargers but I finally got myself into a Challenger 5years ago But last year 22' I got myself an RT Hemi and love her GoMango paint with a gold fleck u see when the sun kisses her...truly a beautiful sight these Mopars are. This Cuda in Plum Crazy is a favorite of mine--it's arguably one of the meanest looking Road Beasts with a touch of seXy and that growl when u start a Hemi.... a Stunning work of Art----- and then some!!!!!

Why would someone have the column shift on a car like that

I have a friend back in 1970 that had a bad leg. He was in an accident and couldn't bend his right leg. He had a red 1970 AAR. Bought the column shift so he could place his right leg over the hump and drive with his left leg. Plus, some people prefer column shift@@vernonlarson7016

Wow what a beautiful Cuda. I bought a used 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe back in 1972 for $1,500 😮. That was my chick magnet 🧲 until 1976 when it rusted out in upstate New York 😢

I had a '71 383 Cuda' orange with billboard graphics, I sold it for a ridiculous reason. Wish I had it back. It was a Texas car bought new in Alice,Tx & had a wicked cam, aluminum Edelbrock manifold & Holley carb. It was a dream with now rust.

All the ones I have seen had the stock type dash and not the Rally dash . Back in 70 a local dealer had a yellow AAR with standard dash and auto on the column.

I have to say that of all the AAR's and TA's I've seen, I have never seen one with a column shifter. Everyone has had a floor shift. I can't imagine road racing this setup. Is this a true AAR? Don't get me wrong, I love the car! it is a beauty!

Around 35 or so years ago on long island NY there's a green one of these 4spd car I asked to buy it guy says yes we had a price I had cash for him last minute change of heart he says he can't sell it so I up my offer another grand he says he can't sell it but 2 weeks later I'm in the area stop by where the car was n it's gone so I ring the bell he answers the door says he sold the car to someone else. Words can't describe my reaction he didn't even apologize it was a real learning experience as I was a teenager at the time.

I had the exact same car when I was 16 right down to the automatic on the column. I bought it from a Mopar mechanic in Superior Wisconsin circa 1977. Arguably the rarest AAR with the column shift. Do you know how many were built?

Mine had brushed trim rings, not polished. Why is it idling so fast?

Probably still cold. Has a fast idle solenoid that will keep idle higher when cold then when warmed up it should drop.

It was a cool evening when I made the video, and the fast idle cam was engaged. Check later in the video when I rev up the engine it idles back down to a slower idle.

Beautiful car, but I really hate that column shifter. Column shifters should not be offered on muscle cars...period. If I was in the market for a muscle car and it had a column shifter, I would walk away.
