Update on the brakes and fuel starvation mentioned in the video. I have adjusted the rebuilt brakes and now it brakes wonderfully. The problem with fuel starvation was a dirty fuel filter. I installed a new filter. Now it is fast, powerful and runs down the road without intermittent sputtering.

This is my favorite video! I wish the circumstances were different, but what a great job you did telling the story!

Well it would take about $30,000 to restore it properly.

Those wide stripes down the sides that are painted a cream color most likely has chrome underneath . I had a red one that a paint chip that exposed chrome underneath. I removed all of the red paint that covered the wide strips on both sides. It really looked great afterwards.

Yes, the entire cast molding is chromed. The insert is usually painted either the body color or the contrasting color of the vinyl top.

Well it’s gone I’m sure you did not get a premium for it but it’s a learning experience next time look at it before buying and if at all possible get a pre purchase inspection and you should be allowed to to take it to a Buick dealer and talk to the mechanic about what you are looking for not just a state inspection I do believe he was hoping you were not going to come out to see it so you bought it sight unseen I just hope you didn’t pay a premium

I remember the color and liked it then. Now, I am not so sure! I had a 1966, 1969 & 1971 Riviera. I always loved the 1970.

I think there were 2 or 3 different golds in 1970.
@MostlyBuicks2 жыл бұрын
There was also Harvest Gold and Desert Gold for Buick in 1970. Maybe you are thinking of either of those colors. I personally prefer Desert Gold.

I have to say that Buick made a car that was beautiful in 1967 into something truly hideous.
@MostlyBuicks2 жыл бұрын
I once had a 67 Riviera GS. But the 1970 has become more and more beautiful to me as I get older. That is not to say the 66 and 67 isn't.

If this car is from arizona. It wouldn’t have ANY RUST ON IT AT ALL PERIOD
@MostlyBuicks3 ай бұрын
@@travishackney7771Well that would hold true for the desert portions of AZ. But it wasn't from AZ anyway. Yes, even junkyards with cars from the 1950s have rust free cars, save for the surface rust from the sun baking all the paint off the sheet metal.

I am a Christian I am a SINNER SAVED BY GRACE and I am a work in progress but I don’t use my relationship with my LORD to rip people off So when people start off about their faith and how they are born again I always start doubting everything they say from then on

That’s a lot of rust coming from Arizona I guess he spent a lot time in Flagstaff or travel to NEWYORK in the winter
@MostlyBuicks14 күн бұрын
@@travishackney7771 It was from the midwest. It was said to be rust free. I was foolishly taken by a con artist. You'd think I would have known better. But I sold it at a loss with full disclosure. I practically tried to talk the guy out of buying it, by showing him the video of the underside. But some people think there is money to be made in restoring cars of this condition. Even if the car was free, this is a $60,000 or more project to restore it right.

I bet this car was repainted thinking they could sell it before the rust came back
@MostlyBuicks13 күн бұрын
It was repainted, but the paint job was pretty old There was not much rust or rust repair on the outer body panels. I hope someday to own a NICE 1970 Riviera, but I would have to sell off a few cars to afford it.

Did u buy sight unseen ?? should not be complaining Nice car though
@MostlyBuicks2 жыл бұрын
If you watch the entire video, you will see I admit is it MY fault two or three time that I did not fly in to inspect the car before I bought it. I reserve the right to complain about anything, even if they hang me with a silk rope.
