I think this is the solution I've been looking for to save a truck cab that has tricky rust adjacent to the drip rails, simply eliminate them. Good presentation, thanks for sharing.

Those 70's drip rails work great as long as they don't get wet 😉

Hopefully, this beast wont see a lot of wet days. Thanks for watching!

Time consuming and it doesn't change much, but it looks great. Unless you know cars or you pay attention, most people won't notice, but it gives it a clean look for sure. Great job, 👍 when we weld on the 60s chevys, they always have lead work in the window corners and back corners at the top of the quarter panels. The lead work looks great if you know how to do it, but I prefer the mig welder when im cleaning up old trim panel holes and holes on the pinch welds behind the glass. I use a brass spoon to help with blow through and runaway welds, but any piece of brass works great as a backer. Try it out sometime if you haven't. Good job, though. Happy New Year

Great tip on the brass...anything to dissipate some heat for the burn throughs. Thanks for watching!

Very Interesting videos you are making. I am doing a roof swap on an 89 bronco. For what it is worth I have been using the Pferd .030 cutoff wheels for several years and they work great and since it is a thinner curf the cutting goes very fast and accurately.

I think it is going to look great, maybe it will help with the wind noise these cars have. Are you going to remove the stainless moldings on top of the door window frames too? Happy New Year!
@letsgetdirtygarage6197 Жыл бұрын
yeah the stainless around the door frames is a delete item as well. gonna go with just the smooth painted look.

Looks great, but if caught in the rain will the stock style replacement door/glass seals be enough to keep water out of the car? I mean even a show car/weekend warrior will get caught in the rain occasionally.
@letsgetdirtygarage6197 Жыл бұрын
It should shed rain, the top of the doors are inset quite a ways from the roof line anyway, and driving around with rage to clean up my messes isnt new to me. lol. Thanks for watching!

What about the water dripping in the windows 🤣
@letsgetdirtygarage6197 Жыл бұрын
The doors sit inboard of the roof anyway and this will certainly not be a daily driver to see much rain.
