1970 European Cup Winners' Cup Final - Manchester City v Górnik Zabrze

Many don't realise that City was truly a top side in England in that era. Title winners in 68, FA Cup in 69, with the League Cup and this trophy in 1970. I noticed City donned the 'Milan away jersey in this Final, which Allison introduced the previous year. (Milan were European Champions that year, and he wanted City to be as famous and good as Milan). Well they were then, and it's really great to see them challenging for trophies again, as well as still being kitted away, in red and black.

@mcfcscott1 He also doesn't understand that Eastern European clubs from that era were of a much higher standard than they presently are. Gornik was the dominant Polish side of that era. Obviously the CWC was an easier competition to win compared to the EC or UEFA (Fairs) Cups, but looking thru' list of winners, you instantly see that many of the great European giants took this competition very seriously.

United rok wczesniej, a tu... A rok pozniej, w trzecim meczu w Kopenhadze to byla rozpacz co on robil... Widac mial jakas alergie na MC... :) Piekne czasy. Brawo Gornik! I Legia! I Widzew! Itd. Go Lech!!!
