So many great players and so many (almost) great City teams. City were the best team in Manchester by some distance from the late 1960s till the late 1970s, and consistently one of the best teams in England. Such a shame they didn't win more. Makes me laugh when the Rags dribble on about City having no history when ManU did sod all for twenty years.

what no won pen!that Brian Kidd strike is the best long range shot i have witnessed at E.R i was in the kop that day and the video dosn`t do it justice,Peter Barnes never a s good when he left city,finally from a Leeds fan in that era Maine road was the scariest away trip for us i first went 74/75 and you never new what might happen

Peter Barnes had his critics at City but he could really play as seen on the evidence of this. Another case of Allison's return proving disastrous in the way he broke up Tony Book's team. Barnes and Owen should have been the basis of a great City team in the 80s.
