@@shaunmaluga can you give me an idea what that thing is like driving down the highway is it a pleasant ride or is it extremely noisy and rough riding? I’m just curious.

@@Indeewoods that is a tough question! Compared to a new vehicle it is horrible haha. But, for a 50 year old truck, this particular one drove quite well, especially with the new suspension and airbag helper springs on the back. You definitely fell all the bumps and it is noisy. But I would say quite pleasant cruising up to about 50mph. Once you start going over that the wind noise gets quite loud and as you start getting around 70mph the higher revving engine/fan noise adds to that. I always wondered if it was worth adding either a clutch or electrical fan to it, it might have helped very slightly, but I do think the wind noise is the biggest thing. I found 60mph the ideal to sit at on the highway. I did wear earplugs when driving for longer than 20 minutes on the highway, it get's to be a lot. I have been in another scout that was geared very strangely, but meant it was only revving in the 1000's at 60-65mph. It also seemed to have much less wind noise. Not sure if it had better seals but it did have carpeted floors and the pickup top. So many variables. I'm sure the roof rack on mine added some wind noise too.

@@shaunmaluga great info and makes sense. I used to do those enduro races or demolition derby’s and it’s amazing how loud a car is inside when the carpet and head liner is removed. Sounds like I’ll want to make sure I spend some time and money on that.

Oh man....I love it!!! You make me wish i had the extra money to fix mine up! I also have a 70 Scout 800A series. Its a little rough in shap now. I did convert mine to power steering several years ago to save me from getting rubber armed when i off-roaded in her alot. I always wanted to put roll bars in and even got it all measured out to do it and was saving up to do it but when you got a kid, you dont always get to spend it on your hobbies. I ended up selling her to a friend and 8 years later i bought her back from him. I really want to get her back to running good again and would love to have disc brakes instead of drum brakes. That Scout is a beauty tho! And i hauled many a load in it when i went camping! I love Scouts!!

What did it end up going for. How many 232s are around. Not familiar with the sixs. Straight or v?? I just got a 66 with a 196 4 speed, but it needs gone through. If a six isn't that much of a hassle to put in, why not??

Not sure if it was a dealer option or if they are all aftermarket. Mine came with it and was very original otherwise, 1 owner. I had it recovered by a place in Venice, CA.

Where did you get the floor mats?
@shaunmaluga
@shaunmaluga 11 ай бұрын
They are Coco Mats! They are custom made to fit, you can get a kit sent out to you with samples and paper to draw your full size template. Ship it back and they make them to size. Expensive for floor mats but I love the look of them.

what camera did you use for the shooting, any second hand budget camera suggestion to shoot this quality?
@shaunmaluga
@shaunmaluga 11 ай бұрын
I used the Fujifilm X-T4 but simply buying a camera will not get you the "quality" you're looking for. This is the xt4 + an atomos ninja v, ronin gimbal, external mic etc. and while I'm new to video, I have years of photography experience and then colour grading in davinci resolve. While I don't think this video is "amazing", I also don't think you could get something similar straight out of a box. I don't want to discourage you but just making sure you know that "good" video doesn't come from a "good camera". But if you want to get into it there are so many variables I couldn't recommend something specific but would say do some research into Panasonic cameras (I see a lot of videographers using these) and/or the Sony series (will have a broad community/knowledge pool). I chose the Fuji X-T4 because it would do 4k video and 10 bit with the external atomos ninja v. Knowing I wanted to get into colour grading (plus the fact I was already in the fuji x system for photography), this made the most sense for me when compared to cost. Although, a more integrated/dedicated video setup would definitely have it's advantages. Anyway I would suggest working out your budget and start researching whats available in that price range and the pros and cons. Check out resources like DPReview, Gerald Undone and a bunch of other comparison videos on KZbin to work out what you think would be best for you!
