That’s a stone cold classic! Injection pump technology in true German style actually derived off 1940s Messerschmidt fighter engine injection, just scaled down for the straight 6.

Very clean looking, nice restoration. Puerto Rico has an amazing car culture, more than most areas on the mainland US. All we have where I’m at are crotchety old farts that don’t even want to drive their cars or young d-bags that cut their exhaust off everything and put a “Carolina Squat” on their trucks to blind everyone with their headlights to your face.

Design thanks to Paul Bracq who designed it between 1960 and 1962 , it was presented in March 1963 at the Geneva Motor Show as 230 SL with 2.3 liters inline six injection 150 bhp.. with five crankshaft bearings.. production finished 1967, by early 1966 the 250 SL with 2.5 liters 150 bhp seven crankshaft bearings appeared produced until 1968, in the second half of 1968 the 280 SL was presented it was produced until end of 1971. June 1971 Mercedes showed the 350 SL R107 series in Dallas TX with Rudolf Uhlenhaut…

Great car! But if this video is released in 2023, and Dennis says 1970 (the year of the car next to him) was 40 some years ago, then the video was shot *not* in 2023.
