The GREATEST Muscle car in the world. The AMERICAN FERRARI. Truly....this is the BE ALL & END ALL of any high performance car made in this country. It just craps on Mustangs & Camaro's.....as it makes them both look like GRAND MA's car. Incredible looks, perfect powertrain with the unbeatable HEMI, & intense add on's like no other car made. The spoilers, the wide-body, the magnificent INDUCTION SYSTEM called the "SHAKER"......and awesome interior. MY Lord....this car came to the designer...Hurlitz….in a WET DREAM. The same designer drew out the 1971 Roadrunner which is the second most awesome car to be penned. These cars can't be beat in car shows. To this day....heads turn everywhere when we come down the street & people hear our MOPAR. When they turn around to see what THE HELL is making that roar, and see ours......all heck breaks loose. We have taken 14 car shows.....1st place......and we are invited to gigantic shows all over the USA.

I had a chance to buy a numbers matching 70 Hemi Cuda' back in 1984 for $10,000. But being just out of high school there was no way I could swing it. The car belonged to Dave Jones, he sold several hemi cars around that same time.

Sure grip was a mandatory option for all Hemi cars. 4-speed 440, 440+6, and Hemi ‘cudas had the 9 3/4 Dana 60.

why does it have a 8 3/4 rear end. hemi drive train comes with 9 3/4 Dana 60 rear gear!

Wayne Burton Incorrect. Only 4-speeds received a mandatory Dana 60. The Torqueflite could absorb some of the shock of a Hemi, so the 8 3/4 was standard fare on a Hemi/automatic combo. The only way to get a Dana with a Hemi/automatic was if you chose either the 3.54 Track Pack or 4.10 Super Track Pack option.

VE efficiency my ass! VE is the ratio between on paper pumping and actual pumping - the working fluid in this instance being air. It is a useful indicator only, a bit like BMEP. The Hemispherical combustion chamber is hardly the apogee of combustion chamber design as the design introduces pumping loses of its own viz. large amount of ignition advance required acts as a brake on the piston retarding power production. Other less than ideal qualities of the design are shrouding of the intake and exhaust valves, mandatory domed piston creating high reciprocating mass, and potential pockets of unburned mixture in many operating conditions and a not too consistent idle (discounting camshaft overlap/lobe centers etc) In all out racing the compromises of the design are irrelevant. The mystique of the engine is what it is all about. The audacious decision to place the motor into production is where the appeal is, considering racing politics of the era. The power of suggestion is never to be underestimated and the word Hemi invokes sheer audacity. This is the marketing department doing this. Chrysler marketing did this with Max Wedge which in some ways is a better design and holds up well even today. If I had the choice between a 440 and a Hemi? - give me the Hemi any day of the week; I'm just saying, that's all!
